Objective: This study was done as a descriptive to aim the surveying of the opinions of asthmatic patients and nurses about the training deeds with Q methodology.Material - Method: The research was done on the 60 patients who were staying at Chest Service at Medical Faculty Hospital of Süleyman Demirel University and Isparta State Hospital between the dates of March-June 2014 and 30 nurses who were caring them. As means of data collection identifying characteristics questionnaire and 18 question cards on which the training subjects about asthma prepared according to the literature were taking place. The data's were collected by the researcher by the face to face interview technique using Q methodology (card sort ranking). The data analysis used to mean scores and frequencies. Results: As the analysis carried out, some thoughts about training needs of patients who had asthma and nurses were different. It was determined that the subject of' what kind of disease is asthma? ' was located the first place by both patients and nurses. "What should I know about asthma medication?", "Am I every year, should make a flu vaccine?", "Plants can apply for non-medical treatment of asthma therapy, are there alternative practices such as acupuncture and natural products?" And "What should I do if an asthma attack I start?" topics of the patients and the nurses were determined to have the different importance. “Does asthma affect my sex life?" topic is determined by the degree of importance of each group given the last.Coclusion: To the results of these, including the patients who have asthma to the training plans and determining the needs of prior learning by using Q methodology before the training by nurses are suggested.Key Words: Asthma, Education of patients, Q Methodology.Amaç: Bu çalışma astımlı hastaların ve hemşirelerinin eğitim gereksinimleri ile ilgili görüşlerinin Q yöntemi ile incelenmesi amacıyla tanımlayıcı olarak yapılmıştır.Metaryal-Metod: Araştırma Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Hastanesi ve Isparta Devlet Hastanesi Göğüs servislerinde yatan Mart-Haziran 2014 tarihleri arasında yatan 60 hasta ve onlara bakım veren 30 hemşire ile yapılmıştır. Veri toplama araçları olarak tanıtıcı özellikler anket formu ve literatür doğrultusunda hazırlanan astımla ile ilgili eğitim konularının yer aldığı 18 soru kartı kullanılmıştır. Veriler araştırmacı tarafından Q yönteminden (kart sort sıralama) yararlanılarak yüz yüze görüşme tekniği ile toplanmıştır. Araştırmada verilerin analizinde frekans ve yüzdelik yöntemlerinden yararlanılmıştır. Bulgular: Yapılan analiz olarak astımı olan hastaların eğitim gereksinimleri ile hemşirelerin bu konudaki bazı düşüncelerin aynı bazı düşüncelerin farklı olduğu bulunmuştur. “Astım nasıl bir hastalıktır” konusunu hem hastaların hem de hemşirelerin ilk sıraya koydukları, “Astım ilaçları ile ilgili neleri bilmeliyim?” , “Her yıl grip aşısı yaptırmalı mıyım?”, “Astım tedavisinde tıbbi tedavi dışında uygulayabileceğim bitkiler, akupunktur ve doğal ürünler gibi alternatif uygulamalar var mı?” ve “Astım atağım başladığında ne yapmalıyım?” konularında hasta ve hemşirelerin aynı önem derecesine sahip olmadıkları ve “Astım cinsel hayatımı etkiler mi?” konusunu ise her iki grubun önem derecesine göre en sonda yer verdikleri belirlenmiştir. Sonuç: Bu sonuçlara göre astımı olan hastaların eğitim planına dahil edilmesi ve eğitime başlamadan önce hemşirelerin, hastaların öncelikli öğrenme gereksinimlerini Q yöntemi kullanarak belirlemeleri önerilmektedir.
