Bu çalışmayla, 1960'larda Amerika'da ortaya çıkan bir sanat akımı olan minimalizmin önde gelen sanatçılarından Dan Flavin'in sanat anlayışı genel olarak incelenerek, bazı çalışmalarından örnekler verilecektir. Özellikle Flavin ile bütünleşen floresan heykellerinin ortaya çıkış süreçleri ele alınarak yarattığı kendine özgü atmosfer etkisinin sanatçının minimalist düşünüş biçimiyle örtüştüğü ve çeliştiği yönlerinin bir araştırması ortaya konulacaktır.Anahtar Kelimeler: Dan Flavin, heykel, minimalizm, renk, ışık.AbstractIn this study, an outline of the artistic approach of Dan Flavin, who is one of the prominent artists of minimalism, which appeared in the USA in the 60s, will be discussed and examples from his works will be given. While discussing the emergence of fluorescent sculptures associated with Flavin, a study of the unique atmosphere effect which was created by Flavin will be conducted and presented. While doing this, the aspects of this atmosphere which contradict and those which are in harmony with his minimalistic way of thinking will be discussed.Key Words: Dan Flavin, sculpture, minimalism, colour, light. |
