Withinthe scope of this study, an approach has been proposed to practically determineseismic safety of existing school buildings. For this purpose, three types ofmodel building formwork plans with 4, 6 and 8 classrooms were selected. Shearwall- frame systems have been created by placing 4 reinforced concrete shearwalls symmetrically on both sides of each of the 3 selected formwork plans.Each of the 3 types of selected formwork plans were modelled as 2, 3, 4 and 5stories. Thereby, a total of 12 types of school buildings were created. Thesmallest reinforced concrete shear wall dimensions, provided the predictedperformance level, are obtained by increasing by 5 cm the reinforced concreteshear walls in both directions. This process was carried out until each of theselected 12 model buildings provided the minimum target performance levels, isspecified in Turkish Earthquake Code (TEC) [1],based on the probability of exceeding occurrence. The limit values of proposedpractical approach are obtained by using model building analyses. Inorder to determine the consistency of the limit values in this proposedapproach, 70 project data of framed and shear wall- framed systems schoolbuildings where in Isparta region are obtained. The results obtainedwith the proposed approach were compared withthe results of the detailed solutions in accordance with the TEC [1] guidelines.
Buçalışma kapsamında, mevcut okul türü binaların deprem güvenliğinin pratikşekilde belirlenmesi için bir yaklaşım önerilmiştir. Bu amaçla 4,6 ve 8derslikli olmak üzere üç tip model bina kalıp planı seçilmiştir. Seçilen 3 tipkalıp planının her birinin her iki yönüne simetrik 4 adet betonarme perdeyerleştirilerek perdeli çerçeveli sistemler oluşturulmuştur. Seçilen 3 tip kalıp planının her biri 2, 3,4 ve 5 katlı olarak modellenmiş, böylece toplamda 12 adet tip okul binasıoluşturulmuştur. Seçilen 12 adet model binanın her biri aşılma olasılığına görehedeflenen minimum hedef performans seviyelerini sağlayana kadar betonarmeperdeler her iki yönde 5’er cm artırılarak DBYBHY [1]’de öngörülen performansseviyesini sağlayan en küçük perde duvar boyutları her iki doğrultu için eldeedilmiştir. Model bina çözümleri kullanılarak önerilen pratik yaklaşımın sınırdeğerleri elde edilmiştir. Önerilenyaklaşımın sınır değerlerin tutarlılığının tespiti için Isparta bölgesindebulunan 70 adet çerçeveli ve perdeli çerçeveli okul binası temin edilmiş bubinaların doğrusal elastik olmayan değerlendirme yöntemi ile ayrıntılı çözümüyapılmıştır. Önerilen yaklaşım ile elde edilen sonuçlar, DBYBYH [1] esaslarıile uyumlu olarak ayrıntılı yapılan çözüm sonuçları ile kıyaslanmıştır.
