Dizi endüstrisi, internetin de yardımıyla akıllı telefonlar, bilgisayarlar ve televizyonlar aracılığıyla artık insan yaşamının her anına rahatlıkla ulaşabilmektedir. Bu noktadan hareketle kültür endüstrisinin üretmiş olduğu metaların, kitlelerin zihinlerine erişiminin artık daha kolay olduğu söylenebilir. Westworld (Batı Dünyası) gibi kitleler tarafından yoğun ilgi ve kabul görmüş diziler bu gelişimin açık birer örneğidirler. Kitleler tarafından benimsenen kültür endüstrisinin bu ürünleri, kapitalist ideolojinin mesajlarını milyonlarca insana ulaştırır. Westworld (Batı Dünyası), bu ideolojik işleyişi tüm çıplaklığıyla gözler önüne sermesi açısından önemli bir kültür metasıdır. Tez çalışması kapsamında Westworld dizisinin 20 bölümü (2 sezonu) incelenmiş ve nitel içerik çözümlemesi yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda belirlenen temalar çerçevesinde, kültür endüstrisinin standart, tek tip ürünlerinin özgün içerikten yoksun olduğu; ataerkil ve ırkçılık gibi toplum tarafından rahatlıkla algılanabilecek ideolojilerin yeniden üretildiği ve dizi aracılığıyla kitlelere ulaştırıldığı; tarihsizleştirme yoluyla kapitalist sistemin kendini ezeli ve ebedi bir sistem olarak izleyiciye sunduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
The series industry is now able to reach every moment of human life through smart phones, computers and televisions with the help of the internet. From this point of view, it can be said that the commodities produced by the cultural industry are easier to access to the minds of the masses. Series such as Westworld, which are widely received and accepted by the masses, are clear examples of this development. These products of the cultural industry, adopted by the masses, convey the messages of capitalist ideology to millions of people. Westworld is an important cultural commodity in terms of revealing this ideological process with all its nakedness. Within the scope of the thesis, 20 chapters (2 seasons) of Westworld series were examined and qualitative content analysis was performed. Within the framework of the themes determined as a result of the research, it was observed that the standard, uniform products of the culture industry lacked original content; that ideologies such as patriarchy and racism that can be easily perceived by the society are reproduced and delivered to the masses through the series; it is concluded that the capitalist system presents itself to the audience as an eternal system.
