Amaç: Maksiller kaninlerin bukkal ve palatinalde gömülü kalması ile ilgili pek çok etiyolojik sebep bildirilmiştir. Tek taraflı gömülü vakalarda gömülüğlün değerlendirilebilmesi için split mouth çalışma tasarımı, iyi bir inceleme imkanı sağlamaktadır. Çalışmanın amacı (i)farklı konumdaki tek taraflı gömülü maksiller kanini bulunan vakalarda kanin dişlerin, kron ve kök morfolojisindeki farklılıkları, kök dilaserasyonunu ve kron-kök hacimlerini KIBT ile üç boyutlu olarak incelemek ve(ii) elde edilen verileri karşılaştırmaktır. Materyal ve Metot: Bu çalışmada maksillada tek taraflı gömülü kanin dişi bulunan 60 bireyin maksiller KIBT kayıtları kullanılmıştır. Bireyler öncelikle gömülü maksiller kanin dişin bukkalde veya palatinalde olmasına göre iki gruba, daha sonra sürmüş ve gömülü taraf olmak üzere alt gruba ayrılmıştır. Bu durumda her bir vaka, bukkalde veya palatinalde gömülü kanin grubunun, sürmüş veya gömülü alt gruplarından birisi içerisine dahil olmuştur. Tüm bireylerin kanin dişleri üzerinde hacimsel, boyutsal ve açısal ölçümler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmada elde edilen veriler faktöriyel düzende rANOVA tekniğiyle analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmada gömülü kanin konumu (GKK) faktörünün bukkal ve palatinal olmak üzere iki seviyesi, gömülülük durumu (GD) faktörünün ise gömülü taraf ve sürmüş taraf olmak üzere iki seviyesi mevcuttur. Çoklu karşılaştırma için Tukey testi kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Palatinal ve bukkal gruplarda yer alan kanin dişlerin mine sement sınırındaki bukkolingual kök genişlikleri özelliği bakımından GD*GKK interaksiyonu istatistik olarak önemli bulunmuştur. Gömülü tarafta yer alan kanin diş uzunluğu, sürmüş tarafa göre istatistik olarak daha kısa, kron-kök açısı ortalamaları daha küçük, bukkolingual kron genişlik ortalamaları, mine sement sınırının 5 mm apikalindeki bukkolingual kök genişlik ortalamaları, mine sement sınırının 10 mm apikalindeki bukkolingual kök genişliği, mine sement sınırının 10 mm apikalindeki meziyodistal kök genişlik ortalaması ve meziyodistal kron genişlik ortalamaları daha geniştir. Palatinal gruptaki tüm vakaların mine sement sınırının 10 mm apikalindeki meziyodistal kök genişliği, bukkal gruptaki tüm vakaların ortalamalarına göre daha geniştir. Bukkal gruptaki tüm vakaların kanin dişlerinin bukkolingual kron genişlik ortalamaları ve meziyodistal kron genişliği ortalamaları, palatinal gruptaki tüm vakaların ortalamalarına göre daha geniştir. Sonuç: Gömülü kanin dişlerin kısa-şişkin kök ve geniş kron morfolojisi, maksiller kanin diş gömülülüğünde etkili olabilir.
Aim: Many etiological causes of buccal and palatal impacted maxillary canines have been reported, Split mouth design studies could be helpful to assess the impaction in the case of one-sided maxillary canines.The aims of this study are (i) to evaluate the morphology of the impacted upper canines with respect to morphological differences, dilecartions and volumetrical ratio of crown/root with the use of CBCT, (ii) to compare the difference between the data with regard to each parameter Materials and Methods: The study was carried out on the maxillary CBCT scans of 60 individuals with unilaterally impacted maxillary canines. The individuals involved in this study were divided into 2 groups according to location as cases with buccally impacted canines and cases with palatally impacted canines. Then the individuals in each group were re-divided into two subgroups as impacted side and non-impacted sideas each case was included in the "buccally impacted canine group (impacted / non-impacted)" or "palatally impacted canine group (impacted / nonimpacted)". Volumetric, dimensional and angular measurements were examined for both groups on impacted side and non-impacted side. The data obtained in the study were analysed using the rANOVA technique. Two levels of location factor (LF) as buccal and palatal, and two levels of impaction factor (IF) as impacted side and nonimpacted side were defined. The Tukey test was used for multiple comparisons. Results: In our study,The buccolingual root widths of the buccally and palataly impacted canines at the level of cementoenamel junction interaction was found statistically significant ( LF*IF), The lengths of the maxillary canines on the impacted side were shorter than the non-impacted side, crown-root angulation of maxillary canines on the impacted side were narrower than the non-impacted side,Buccolingual crown widths of maxillary impacted canines, buccolingual widths of the maxillary impacted canines roots at the level of 5 mm apical to the cementoenamel junction , Buccolingual widths of the maxillary impacted canines roots at the level of 10 mm apical to the cementoenamel junction ,The mesiodistal widths of the maxillary impacted canines roots at the level of 10 mm apical to the cementoenamel junction and the mesiodistal crown widths were wider than canines in the non impacted side. The mesiodistal widths of palataly impacted canine roots at the level of 10 mm apical to the cementoenamel junction were wider than the mesiodistal widths of bukkaly impacted canine roots at the level of 10 mm apical to the cementoenamel junction , mesiodistal crown widths and buccolingual crown widths of bukkaly impacted canine grups were wider than those in palataly impacted canine groups. Conclusion:. The results obtained in this study, The short-bulging root and wide crown morphology of the impacted maxillary canine teeth which may be the cause of impaction.
