Children who have hearing-impaired depending on thelevel of their loss of hearing sensitivity may have difficulties with speechacquisition and communication skills. They may also have some academic problemswhen they reach the school age. Therefore, it is necessary to define theindividual features of hearing-impaired students in the primary education, meetthe requirements of them and provide them with educational services both in theschool and out of the school. The aim of this study is to reveal how theprimary school teachers who work at different class levels provide educationalservices for the students with hearing impairment, what kind of problems theyencounter with and what kind of support they get for those students. In thisqualitative research, phenomenological research pattern has been used. Thesample group consists of 10 teachers who work at primary schools. During theinterviews, the teachers were asked 11 open-ended questions in the interviewform. The data analysis has been conducted using contents analysis anddescriptive analysis. Depending on the sub-aims of the research, the findingshave been evaluated under four themes as ‘the educational services that theteachers provide for the students with hearing impairment, the problems theyencounter with during the process, the supportive services for the teachers andthe suggestions for providing more qualified environment for the students’. |

İşitmeengelli çocuklar işitme duyarlıklarını kaybetme derecelerine bağlı olarakkonuşmayı edinmede, iletişim becerilerinde ve okul çağına geldiklerinde deöğrenme sürecinde akademik sorunlar yaşayabilmektedir. Bu nedenle temel eğitimde işitme engelliöğrencinin bireysel özellikleri tanımlanarak gereksinimlerinin karşılanmasıgerek okul ve gerekse okul dışı eğitsel hizmetlerin sağlanması gerekmektedir.Bu çalışmanın amacı ilkokullarda farklı sınıf düzeylerinde görev yapanöğretmenlerin işitme engellilerin eğitimini nasıl gerçekleştirdikleri, ne türsorunlarla karşılaştıkları ve işitme engelli öğrenciler için ne tür destekler aldıklarınıortaya koymaktır. Nitel araştırma yaklaşımlarından fenomenolojik yönteme göredesenlenen araştırmanın çalışma grubunu ilkokullarda görev yapan 10 öğretmenoluşturmuştur. Görüşmeler sırasında öğretmenlere görüşme formunda bulunan 11açık uçlu soru uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler içerik analizi ve betimselanalize tabi tutulmuştur. Araştırmada bulgular araştırmanın alt amaçlarına dabağlı olarak ‘öğretmenlerin işitme engelli öğrencilere sundukları eğitimhizmetleri, uygulamalar sırasında karşılaşılan sorunlar, öğretmene sunulandestek hizmetler ve öğrencilere daha nitelikli ortam sunulabilmesi içingeliştirilen öneriler’ olmak üzere dört temada değerlendirilmiştir. |
