Bu çalışma Güneybatı Anadolu'da bulunan Karataş Gölü'nde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Karataş Gölü ve yakın çevresinde 2000 yıl öncesinden günümüze paleovejetasyon değişimini ortaya koymak çalışmanın temel amacını oluşturmaktadır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda Karataş Gölü'den temin edilen toplam uzunluğu 255 cm (GÖ 1890 kal. 14C) olan sediman karotu üzerinde fosil polen analizleri klasik yöntem uygulanmış ve polenler ışık mikroskobunda familya, cins ve tür bazında teşhis edilmiştir. Teşhis edilen örnekler Tilia 2.0.41 yazılımı kullanılarak polen diyagramı çizilmiştir. 138 cm ve 254 cm'den alınan örnekler Karbon 14 (14C) analizi yöntemi ile tarihlendirilmiştir. 14C yaşlandırma analizi sonucunda Karataş Gölü'ne ait sediman karotu üzerinde 138 cm'de GÖ 1384±25 ve 253 cm'de GÖ 1922±27 yaşları elde edilmiştir. Bu yaş verileri OxCal. 4.3 programı kullanılarak IntCal13 ile kalibre edilmiştir. Yaş verisi polen diyagramına entegre edilerek meydana gelen değişimlerin zamansal olarak ortaya koyulması mümkün hale gelmiştir. Fosil polen diyagramında 2 ana ve 6 alt zon belirlenmiştir. Fosil polen diyagramına göre arboreal polen (AP) içerisinde Pinus, Juniperus ve Quercus evergreen, nonarboreal polen (NAP) içerisinde ise Chenopodiaceae, Asteraceae, Lactuaceae ve Poaceae önemli türler olmuştur. AP oranın en yüksek olduğu dönem GÖ 1625'de %89,2, en düşük olduğu dönem ise GÖ 1885'de %61,6 değerindedir. NAP oranı %38,1-%12,7 arasında değişim göstermiştir. Tahıllar oranı en fazla GÖ 185'de %2,6 değerinde görülmüştür. Fosil polen sonuçlara göre Roma İmparatorluğu, Bizans İmparatorluğu, Selçuklu Devleti ve Osmanlı İmparatorluğu dönemde küresel iklim koşulları ve sürdürülen tarım ve hayvancılık faaliyetlerinin vejetasyon yapısı üzerindeki izleri belirlenmiştir. Bunun yanında belirlenen örneklem alanları ile vejetasyon yapısı açısından benzerlik ve farkılıkları ortaya konulmuştur. This study was carried out in Karatas Lake in southwestern Anatolia. The aim of this study is to reveal the change of paleovegetation in the Karatas Lake and its Surroundings. For this purpose, fossil pollen analyzes were performed on the sediment core with a total length of 255 cm (1890 cal. BP 14 C) obtained from Karataş Lake and pollen was identified in light microscope on the basis of family, genus and species. The samples were drawn using the Tilia 2.0.41 software. Samples taken from 138 cm and 254 cm were dated by Carbon 14 (14C) analysis and were obtained 1384 ± 25 BP at 138 cm and 1922 ± 27 BP at 253 cm on the sediment core of Karataş Lake. These age data were calibrated with IntCal13 using the OxCal. 4.3 program. Age data are integrated into the pollen diagram and it is now possible to determine the changes occurring in time. In the fossil pollen diagram, 2 main and 6 lower zones were determined. In arboreal pollen (AP) according to the fossil pollen diagram, Pinus, Juniperus and Quercus evergreen, and in nonarboreal pollen (NAP) were important species of Chenopodiaceae, Asteraceae, Lactuaceae and Poaceae. The highest AP ratio was 89.2% in 1625 BP, its lowest ratio was 61.6% in 1885 BP. The NAP ratio ranged from 38.1% to 12.7%. Cereals rate was highest in 185 BP at 2.6%. According to the results of fossil pollen in the Roman Empire, Byzantine Empire, Selçuk State and Ottoman Empire period, the global climatic conditions and sustained agricultural and livestock activities on the vegetation structure traces were determined. Besides, similarities and differences were determined in terms of vegetation structure with determined sample areas.
