dc.description National poet Abay (Ibrahim) Kunanbayev, great thinker who grew up with Kazakh people living under Tsarist Russia colony in the second half of the XIX century, thought about backwardness of the society he has born and grew up, and he tried to produce solution on this issue. He detected that society's rebuilt is only possible with educational campaign and he uttered in his poems and stories which kind of structuring should be in each class of society. During the period of his life, education of madrasahs was away from his aims. In order to apply the changes he wishes, to be occured in the society, he did not even hesitate to conflict with his father who was the Lord (Bey) of the community. This study emphasises on Abay's literary personality, contents of his works and individuals who affected Abay's thought world, after summarizes his life. Then his pedagogical thoughts, issues need to be considered in the education system of young generation, outlook on being friend and friendship relations, education responsibilities of mother and father in the family, also points to be considered in the selection of mate are discussed.
