Tasavvuf ilminde önemli bir yere sahip olan evliyâ menâkıbnâmeleri, sûfîlerin hallerine, kerâmetlerine, meşreplerine dair bilgiler vermektedir. Çalışmamıza konu olan Menâkıb u Merâkıd-ı Evliyâ-yı Izâm adlı eser de önemli İslâm merkezlerinden biri olan Irak bölgesinde yaşamış veya orada vefat etmiş kişilerin hayat hikâyesini içeren bu tür bir eserdir. Eserde ikisi peygamber, on beşi ehl-i beyt, yirmi ikisi sahâbe, onbiri tâbiîn, beşi zâhid, altmış altısı sûfî, altmış ikisi İslâm âlimi olmak üzere toplamda yüz seksen üç kişinin menkıbeye dayalı hayat hikâyesi anlatılmaktadır. Eserde ilk sırada Yûşa Peygamber, sonda ise Şeyh Ebû Sefîn yer almaktadır. Osmanlı Devleti'nin son döneminde istinsâh edilen Menâkıb u Merâkıd-ı Evliyâ-yı Izâm adlı eserin müstensihi Kâsım bin Yusuf'tur. Müellifi bilinmemektedir. Müellif eserine Allah'a hamd ve senâ, Hz. Peygamber'e övgü ile başlamıştır. Daha sonra müellif cennetle müjdelenen sahâbeler ile ehl-i beytten bazı kişileri Arapça ve Farsça beyitler ile övmüştür. Eserine aldığı kişilerin faziletlerinden söz edip onlar hakkında kısaca bilgi vermiş ve ayrıntılı bilgilere ulaşmak isteyenleri ilgili kaynaklara yönlendirmiştir. Müellif belirli kaynaklardan yararlanarak oluşturmuş olduğu bu esere nadir olarak kendi düşüncelerini de katmıştır. Bu çalışmada Osmanlı Türkçe'si ile yazılmış olan Menâkıb u Merâkıd-ı Evliyâ-yı Izâm adlı eser günümüz Türkçe'sine aktarılmıştır. Eserde adı geçen şahıslar ve tasavvufî kavramlar ile ilgili ayrıntılı bilgilere ulaşmak isteyenler için gerekli kaynaklar dipnotta gösterilmiştir. Eser hakkında bilgi verilmiş, anlamı bilinmeyen sözcükler için sözlük bölümü oluşturulmuştur. Arapça ve Farsça kısımlar tercüme edilmiştir. Metin günümüz Türkçe'sinin kullanılış üslûbuna göre düzenlenmiş, yeri geldikçe paragraf düzenlemeleri yapılarak noktalama işaretleri konulmuştur.

Saint manaqibnamas, which have an important place in Sufism, provide information about the status, oracles and dispositions of Sufis. Manaqib and Maraqid-i Awliya-yı Izâm, which is the subject of this study, is a kind of work that contains the life stories of the people who lived or died in the Iraq region, one of the important Islamic centers. In the work, a life story based one hundred eighty three people, including two prophets, fifteen members of ahl al-beyt, twenty two sahabahs, eleven tâbiîn, five ascetic, sixty six sufis and sixty two Islamic pious, is told. The first place in the work is Yûsa Prophetç, and the last place is Seyh Ebû Sefîn. The copyist of the work that was copy in the last period of Ottoman Statewas Qasim b. Yusuf. The Author unknown. Began his work with the praising of Prophet Muhammad, transfiguring and eulogizing to Allah. Later, Sahabahs and some of the people from ahl al-beyt who were heralded with heaven were praised with the Arabic and Persian coupleted. He talked about the virtuous of the people and briefly informed about them that is mentioned in his work and also directed those who wanted to reach detailed information to the relevant sources. The author used certain sources and rarely added his own thoughts in this work. In this study, the work of Manaqib and Maraqid-i Awliya-yı Izam written in Ottoman Turkish is transferred into today's Turkish. For reserchers who would like to get detailed information about the individuals mentioned in the work and sufistic concepts, the necessary sources are given in the footnotes. Moreover, information about the work are given and dictionary section is created for unknown words. In addition to these, Arabic and Persian parts were translated. The text is arranged according to the use of today's Turkish style, and if it is needed, paragraph arrangements and punctuation marks are realized.
