dc.description The additives are present in the lubricant to improve and strengthen its life. Also, additives used to reduce the friction coefficient and wear. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effect of a lubricant with a vegetable based methyl esters based additives on the friction behaviour in a static loaded journal bearing testmachines. In this study, experimental tests were applied on statically loaded (100, 250, 500 N) journal bearing test apparatus with different rotational velocities between 5 and 1000 rpm. During experiments were used lubricant additives mixtures at 40 and 100 degrees C in order to understand of the frictional behaviour of vegetable based methyl esters of safflower oil, canola oil and soybean oil. The friction behaviour of methyl ester additives were evaluated.
