Nüfusun ve ekonomik faaliyetlerin kentsel mekanlarda yoğunlaşmasıyla birlikte sosyal, ekonomik, mekânsal, çevresel ve politik problemler ortaya çıkmış ya da artmıştır. Bu sorunlara çözümler üretmek, vatandaşların yaşam kalitesini iyileştirmek, nüfusun yaratıcılığını artırmak, sürekli öğrenme fırsatları yaratmak, süreçleri etkili ve verimli yönetmek, bilgi temelli büyümeyi teşvik etmek ve bağlantıları akıllı hale getirmek amacıyla, farklı noktalara referans verilerek, akıllı kent, dijital kent, sanal kent, sürdürülebilir kent, ekolojik kent, öğrenen kent, bilgi kenti ve kablolu kent gibi kentsel modeller tasarlanmıştır. Son yıllarda özellikle akıllı kent kavramı bilim insanlarının, küresel şirketlerin, yerel ve merkezi yönetimlerin ilgisini çekmiş bu alanda yürütülen çalışmalar hız kazanmıştır. Yeni teknolojiler, kent sakinlerinin ve ziyaretçilerin kent yaşamına dahil olmasını, taleplerinin karşılanmasını, çözümler üreterek özgün hizmetler sunulmasını sağladığı kabulü ile kentin yönetiminde giderek daha merkezi roller oynamaya başlamıştır. Bu bağlamda çalışmanın amacı, Antalya Büyükşehir Belediyesinin, akıllı kent politika, proje ve uygulamalarını inceleyerek öneriler sunmak ve akıllı kentleri değerlendirme yöntemleri önermektir. Continuous intesification of population and economic activities in cities has caused social, economic, spatial, environmental and political problems. In order to produce solutions to these problems, such urban models as smart city, digital city, virtual city, sustainable city, ecological city, learning city, knowledge city and cable city were offered as way to improve the quality of life of citizens, to increase the creativity of the population, to create continuous learning opportunities, to manage processes effectively and efficiently, to encourage knowledge-based growth and to make connections smart, by referencing to different points. In recent years, the concept of smart city has attracted the attention of scientists, global companies, local and central governments, and thus, the studies carried out in this field have gained momentum. New technologies have started to play more and more central roles in the management of cities, as they enable the residents and visitors to be included in the city life, meet their demands and provide unique services and solutions to problems. In this context, the aim of the study is to examine the smart city policies, projects and practices of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, and to offer suggestions and smart city evaluation methods.
