Günümüzde Güney Asya ülkesi olan Bangladeş'in resmî dili olarak kabul edilen Bengalce, hem Bangladeş'te hem de Hindistan'ın doğusunda yaygın olarak konuşulmaktadır. Tarihi süreç içerisinde Bengalce çeşitli aşamalardan geçmiş ve siyer yazıcılığında da önemli gelişmeler kaydetmiştir. Bölgede egemenlik kuran farklı hanedanlıkların etkisiyle Arapça, Farsça ve Urduca gibi dillerin resmî dil olarak kullanılmasından dolayı halkın ana dili olan Bengalce yıllardır ihmal edilmiştir. Ancak, Bengalce konuşan Bengalli yazarların girişimleri ile sevgi dolu manzum ve mensur eserler verilmesiyle Bengalce gelişmiştir. İslam dininin tebliğini gerçekleştirmek için kaleme alınan Bengalce eserler, hem yıllar boyunca halkın Hz. Peygamber'e (sav) duyduğu hasretin eksikliğini kısmen gidermiş hem de siyer literatürünün oluşmasına önemli kaynaklık etmiştir. Bu çalışmada Bengalce siyer yazıcılığının nasıl ve ne zaman başladığını ve bu yazıcılığın önemli kaynaklarının ve müelliflerinin kimler olduğu tespit edilmeye çalışıldı. Kaynaklarda Hz. Muhammed tasavvurunun nasıl geliştiği ve siyer literatürüne ne gibi katkılarının olduğu, kronolojik bir şekilde analiz edildi. Ayrıca, halk arasında çok tutulan iki Bengalce siyer eserinin üzerinde ve onların muhtevaları ve tezin konusunu ilgilendiren mevzular çerçevesinde değerlendirmede bulunulmuştur. Çalışmada Bengalce siyer yazıcılığı ele alınırken, konuyla ilgili Türkçe kaynaklardan da yararlanılmıştır. Netice itibariyle İslam'ın doğduğu Arabistan'dan çok farklı ve uzak bir toplum olan Bengal bölgesindeki Bengalli Müslümanlar arasında Hz. Today Bengali language is accepted as the official language of Bangladesh, a South Asian country, and it is widely spoken in both Bangladesh and eastern India. In the historical process, Bengali has passed through various stages and has made significant developments in the writing of the sirah. Bengali as the mother tongue of the Bengali people has been neglected for years due to the use of languages such as Arabic, Persian and Urdu as an official language under the influence of different dynasties that dominated the region. However, Bengali language flourished, with the initiatives of Bengali-speaking Bengali writers by giving their loving verse and prose works. The Bengali sirah books, which have been written in order to preach Muslim religious teaching among the people over the years, partially have compensated for the lack of longing for the Prophet and also become important sources for the formation of the literature of sirah. In this study, it has been tried to determine how and when the Bengali sirah writing has started and who were the important sources and the authors of this writing. How the concept of the Prophet Muhammad developed in the sources and how it contributed to the literature of sirah have also been analyzed chronologically. In addition, an evaluation has been made on the two Bengali sirah works, which are very popular among the people along with their contents and the issues related to the subject of the thesis. In the study, while dealing with the Bengali sirah writing, Turkish sources related to the subject have also been used. As a result, among the Bengali Muslims of the Bengal region, which is a very different and distant society from Arabia, where Islam was born, it has been tried to determine how the imagination of the Prophet Muhammad developed.
