<p>Kuzeybatı Nekropol Kilisesi, Karabük ili Eskipazar ilçesi sınırlarında Hacı Ahmetler köyünün girişinde yer almaktadır. Eskipazar Çayı’nın 200 metre kuzeyinde bulunan yapı kentin içerisinde bulunduğu konum dolayısıyla Kuzeybatı Nekropol Kilisesi olarak adlandırılmıştır. İlk defa 2007 yılında yol yapım çalışmaları esnasında ortaya çıkarılan yapı 2012 yılında restore edilmiş, 2018 ve 2021 yılları arasında arkeolojik çalışmalar neticesinde ortaya çıkarılmıştır. Bazilikal planlı yapının iki farklı evresi olduğu bilinmektedir. Günümüzde apsis ve bema bölümlerinde teşhir edilen mozaikli zemin yapının ilk evresine aittir. Kilisede yapılan araştırmalar ile ilk evresinin MS. 4. yüzyıl, ikinci evresinin ise MS 6. yüzyıl olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Apsisinde balık pulu desenli mozaikler bema bölümünde ise geometrik, bitkisel ve hayvan figürlü süslemeler dikkat çekmektedir.</p> |

<p>The Northwest Necropolis Church is located at the front of Hacı Ahmetler Village in Eskipazar district of Karabük province. The structure, located 200 meters north of Eskipazar Stream, was called the Northwest Necropolis Church due to its location in the city. The building, which was first uncovered in 2007 during road construction works, was restored in 2012 and was unearthed as a result of archaeological excavations between 2018 and 2021. The basilical church is known to have two different phases. The mosaic floor exhibited in the apse and bema sections today belongs to the first phase of the building. The researches conducted in the church revealed that the first phase was in the 4th century AD and the second phase was in the 6th century AD. Fish scale patterned mosaics in the apse and geometric, floral and animal figural ornaments in the bema section draw attention.</p> |
