El Cezeri, minyatürlerinde kendi dönemi olan 13. yüzyıl sanat anlayışını, robot ve otomatları merkeze alan bir yaklaşımla sunar. 20. yüzyılda ise gelişen sanat anlayışının makineler, robotlar ve yeni teknolojilerle beslenen bir ortam yarattığı ve bu alanda eserler üretildiği görülmektedir. Bu çalışmada, 1960'lı yıllarda özellikle enstalasyon, heykel ve sahne sanatlarında başlayan sibernetik sanat anlayışının 800 yıl önce yaşamış olan ve bu biliminin öncüsü olarak kabul edilen El-Cezeri'nin robotik minyatürleri üzerindeki erken etkisi incelenerek betimlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Tasarladığı robotlar ve makineler üzerindeki sibernetik sanat etkilerinin ortaya konulması ve aynı zamanda sanatçı kimliğinin ön plana çıkarılması amaçlanmıştır. El Cezeri'nin interaktif ve mizansen makinelerinin, sibernetik sistemlerle yapılan sanat eserlerinin erken örnekleri olduğu görülmektedir. Çalışma, “Kitab-ül Hiyel” adlı eserden, ses, ışık, renk, hareket ve etkileşim özelliği içeren robotik konulu minyatürlerle birlikte 20. yüzyılda sibernetik sistemlerle yapılan sanat eserleri ile sınırlandırılmıştır. Literatür taraması yöntemi tercih edilmiş ve çalışmaya konu olabilecek eserler üzerinde karşılaştırmalar yapılmıştır. |

In his miniatures, Al-Jazari presents the 13th century understanding of art, the period in which he lived, with an approach centred on robots and automata. In the 20th century, it is seen that there is an environment fed by machines, robots and new technologies in the developing understanding of art and works are produced in this field. In this study, the early influence of the understanding of cybernetic art, which started in the 1960s, especially in installation, sculpture and performing arts, on the robotic miniatures of Al-Jazari, who lived 800 years ago and is considered as the pioneer of this science, is examined. The process of cybernetic art and Al-Jazari's understanding of art have been examined with the historical method, and the works belonging to two different eras have been described comparatively with the data obtained from the literature review. It is aimed to reveal the cybernetic art features in miniatures on robotics and to highlight his identity as an artist as well as a scientist. The study is limited to the works of art made with cybernetic systems in the 20th century together with miniatures containing sound, light, colour, movement and interaction features from the work named ‘Kitab-ül Hiyel’. It is seen that Al-Jazari is an artist who reflects the early sketches of the processes that started with kinetic arts and continued with robotic and cybernetic arts with his miniatures. |
