Bu noktada şehirsel yaşanabilirliğin tam olarak ne olduğununaçıklanması gerekmektedir. Sorunları daha iyi ortaya koyabilmenin ve çözümleyebilmeninbir yolunun da doğru kavramların kullanılmasıyla olabileceği bilinmektedir. Şehirselyaşanabilirlik kavramının tanımının, taranan yerli ve yabancı literatürelerde yer almadığıtespit edilmiştir. Bu sorunu ortadan kaldırmak için yapılan bu çalışmada şehirselyaşanabilirlik kavramının sosyal, ekonomik, kültürel ve çevre açısından değerlendirilerekbir tanıma ulaşmak amaçlanmıştır.
