Tanrı tarafından belli bir amaçla yaratılmış olmak yaşamın anlamı sorusuna doyurucu bir yanıt sağlar mı? Bu soru için sunacağım değerlendirmelerin temelini Julian Baggini’nin Bütün Bunlar Ne Anlama Geliyor? adlı kitabında sunduğu argümanlar oluşturmaktadır. Bu argümanları hem yeniden kuracak hem de kullandığı örnekleri, özellikle Sartre’dan aldığı örneği, daha ayrıntılı irdeleyeceğim. Baggini’nin burada temelleri tartışılacak olan iddiaları şunlardır: birincisi yaşamın anlamlı olması için önceden belirlenmiş bir yaratılış amacının olması zorunlu değildir, ikincisi önceden belirlenmiş amaçlar sonradan belirlenmiş amaçlardan daha değerli olmak zorunda değildir ve üçüncüsü yaratılış amacımız varsa ve onun bilgisine ulaşma sorunu çözülse bile yaşamın anlamı sorunu çözülmüş olmaz. |

Does being purposefully created by God provide a satisfactory answer to the question of the meaning of life? The evaluations I will present for this question are based on Julian Baggini’s arguments that he presents in his book What’s It All About? I will both reconstruct these arguments and examine in more detail the examples he used, especially the example he took from Sartre. Baggini’s claims, the foundations of which will be discussed here, are as follows: first for life to be meaningful it is not necessary that there be a purpose of creation, second the predetermined purposes do not have to be more valuable than assigned purposes, and third even if we have a purpose of creation and even if the problem of having its knowledge is solved, the problem of the meaning of life is not solved. |
