Değerler, toplumun içinde barındırdığı kapsamlı, bizi biz yapan ögelerdir. Birey ve toplumun olduğu her yerde değer kavramından söz etmek mümkündür. Birey, kültürel kimliğini parçası olduğu toplumun değerleri vasıtasıyla kazanır. Kültürel kodları bünyesinde bulunduran değerler, toplumsal refah ve huzur için gelecek nesillere aktarılmak durumundadırlar. Ahlaklı bireyler yetiştirmeyi hedefleyen toplumlar edebi eserlerin didaktik yönünü kullanarak yol alırlar. Bu bağlamda Halk edebiyatı sözlü mahsullerinden olan efsane içerisinde halkın kültürel değerlerini yansıtması bakımından oldukça dikkat çekici konumdadır. Biz bu çalışmamızda Akdeniz Bölgesindeki efsanelerde değerler eğitimi unsurlarının tespiti ve tespit edilen değerlerin efsane metinleri içerisinde nasıl işlendiği, eğitsel iletilerin ne şekilde yer aldığı yorumlanmaya çalışılmıştır. Values are the comprehensive elements of society that make us huviar. It is possible to talk about the concept of value wherever there is an individual and a society. The individual acquires his cultural identity through the values of the society of which he is a part. Values that contain cultural codes have to be transferred to future generations for social welfare and peace. Societies aiming to raise moral individuals proceed by using the didactic aspect of literary works. In this context, folk literature is in a very remarkable the position in terms of reflecting the cultural values of the people in the legend, which is on of the oral products. In this study, we tried to determine the elements of values education in the legends compiled from the Mediterranean Region, how the determined values were processed in the legend texts, and how the educational messages took place.
