Bu çalışmada yaşayan Türk sosyologlarından, Türkiye'de din sosyolojisinin oluşumuna katkıda bulunmuş, din sosyolojisi alanının sorunlarını ayrıntıları ile çalışmış bir sosyal bilimci olarak Yümni SEZEN 'in din ve toplum görüşleri kaleme alınmıştır. Sezen'in eserlerinde, çalışmalarında örneklemi Türk toplumu ve Türk toplumunda din olgusu olmuştur. Sezen, çalışmalarını sadece inceleme, araştırma sahasında bırakmamış, araştırmasını yaparken ortaya çıkan sorunlara çözümler sunarak katkıda bulunmuştur. Sezen, ileri görüşlü ve gerçek bir mücadele insanı olduğunu, hayatının birçok döneminde ortaya koyduğu mücadele ve eserleriyle göstermiştir. Yümni Hocamız, ülkemizin ve milletimizin başına gelen en büyük belalardan ve tehditlerden olan, Fetullahçı terör örgütünün milli birliğimize ve beraberliğimize nasıl zarar vermeye çalıştığını, 2006 yılında yayınladığı Dinler Arası Diyalog İhaneti isimli kitabında ortaya koyarak, yaşadığı sıkıntılara rağmen duruşundan taviz vermemiştir. Sezen'in din ve toplum görüşlerinden hareket eden çalışmamız bizi, Sezen'in özel olarak İslam sosyolojisi üzerinde durduğunu sonucuna ulaştırmıştır. Sezen'in İslami sosyolojiyi diğer özel din sosyolojilerinden farklı olarak düşünmesinin sebebi de Kur'an-ı Kerim'in bütün insanlara hitap etme özelliğiyle ortaya çıkan bir bütünlük oluşturmasıdır. Düşünürümüz İslam sosyolojisinin temel kaynaklarını Kur'an-ı Kerim, sünnet, tabiat ve tarihsel olaylar olarak ifade etmiştir. In this study, Yümni SEZEN's views on religion and society, as a social scientist who contributed to the formation of the sociology of religion in Turkey and examined the problems of the sociology of religion in detail, were written. The sample of Sezen's works and studies has been Turkish society and the phenomenon of religion in Turkish society. Sezen has not only left his studies in the field of research and research, but has also contributed by offering solutions to the problems that arise while doing his research. Sezen has shown that he is a forward-thinking and combative person with the struggles he has given in many periods of his life and the works he has produced. Our teacher Yumni and revealed how the Fetullahist terrorist organization, one of the biggest troubles and threats to our country and our nation, tried to harm our national unity and solidarity, in her book titled Interfaith Dialogue Betrayal, which he published in 2006. Our study, based on Sezen's views on religion and society, has led us to conclude that Sezen focuses specifically on the sociology of Islam. The reason why Sezen considers the sociology of Islam different from the sociology of other special religions is that the Qur'an creates a unity that emerges with its ability to appeal to all people. Our thinker has expressed the basic sources of Islamic sociology as the Qur'an, Sunnah, nature and historical events.
