Çin, imparatorluk döneminin sonuna doğru büyük sorunlarla karşılaşmış, Batılı devletlerin sömürgesi altında geçen süreden sonra Japonya tarafından işgal edilme sürecini yaşamıştır. Aynı dönemde başlayıp ikinci dünya savaşı sonrası biten iç savaş süreciyle ülkede yeni bir dönem başlamıştır. Yeni dönemin kazananı Çin Komünist Partisi ve ülkenin lideri Mao Zedong süresince ideolojik bakış açısıyla yönetilmiş ve içe kapanan bir Çin ortaya çıkmıştır. Çin Halk Cumhuriyeti, Soğuk Savaşın bitmesiyle kurulan yeni küresel düzende yaptığı reformlar ve izlediği politikalarla özellikle ekonomik alanda gücünü arttırmış, siyasi alanda da aynı gelişmeyi göstererek ve güçlenerek süper güç hedefini elde etme çabası içine girmiştir. Çin dışa açılma dönemi ile birlikte uyguladığı başarılı politikaları sayesinde günümüz dünyasının en önemli ekonomik güçlerinden biri olmayı başarmıştır. Bu başarıyı sürdürmek isteyen Çin, 2013 yılında Başkan Xi Jinping tarafından açıkladığı Bir Kuşak Bir Yol projesini dünyaya sunmuştur. İçerik olarak yaklaşık 2000 yıllık tarihi bulunan, medeniyetlerin birbirleriyle olan etkileşimine ve gelişimine büyük katkılarda bulunmuş 'İpek Yolu'nun modern versiyonu olan bu proje, Asya'yı Avrupa ve Afrika önceliğinde neredeyse bütün dünyaya bağlama amacı taşımaktadır. Bu proje küresel anlamda ekonomik dengeleri değiştirebilecek potansiyel taşıması nedeniyle önem arz etmektedir. Tezin amacı, Çin Halk Cumhuriyeti'nin günümüzde süper güç olmasının altında yatan nedenleri ve Bir Kuşak Bir Yol projesinin detaylarını inceleyerek bu proje sayesinde Afrika üzerinde, Çin-Afrika ilişkilerine de odaklanarak, hegemonyası bulunan Batılı güçlere bir nevi meydan okuma ve kıtadaki güç kazanma amacını ortaya koymaktır. Towards the end of the imperial period, China faced great problems, and after the period under the colony of Western states, it experienced the process of being occupied by Japan. A new era started in the country with the civil war process that started in the same period and ended after the second world war. The winner of the new era, the Chinese Communist Party, and the leader of the country, Mao Zedong, have been led by an ideological perspective and a closed-minded China has emerged. The People's Republic of China has increased its power especially in the economic field with the reforms it has made and the policies it has followed in the new global order established after the end of the Cold War, It has made an effort to achieve its goal by showing the same development and strengthening in the political field. China has managed to become one of the most important economic powers of today's world, thanks to the successful policies it has implemented with the period of opening up. Wanting to continue this success, China presented the One Belt One Road project to the world by President Xi Jinping in 2013. This project, which is the modern version of the "Silk Road", which has a history of approximately 2000 years and has made great contributions to the interaction and development of civilizations, It aims to connect Asia to almost the whole world with the priority of Europe and Africa. This project is important because it has the potential to change the global economic balance. The aim of the thesis is to reveal the reasons behind the People's Republic of China being a superpower today and the details of the One Belt One Road Project and through this project, Focusing also on China-Africa relations, it is a kind of challenge to the Western powers that have hegemony over Africa and to reveal the aim of gaining power in the continent.
