Bu tez çalışmasında 4-(kloroasetil)bifenil molekülü alüminyum klorür katalizörü varlığında bifenil ve kloroasetil klorürün reaksiyonuyla sentezlenmiştir. Kuru HCl gazı varlığında 4-(kloroasetil)bifenil ile izo-pentilnitritin reaksiyona girmesiyle 4-bifenilhidroksimoilklorür (kloroketooksim) elde edilmiştir. Sentezlenen bu kloroketooksime soğuk ortamda ayrı ayrı 3,5-dikloranilin, 4-aminobenzoik asit ve 2-aminopropanol aminleri eklenerek literatürde kaydına rastlanmayan üç yeni ligand elde edilmiştir. Bu ligandlara metal tuzları eklenerek her bir ligandın mononükleer Cu(II) ve Mn(II) kompleksleri sentezlenmiş ve elde edilen tüm bileşiklerin yapıları elemental analiz, ICP-OES, 1H- ve 13C-NMR, FT-IR, UV-Vis, TG-DTG, manyetik duyarlılık, molar iletkenlik çalışmalarıyla aydınlatılmıştır. Sentezlenen tüm ligand ve komplekslerin kuantum kimyasal hesaplamaları da gerçekleştirilmiştir. Her bir bileşiğin optimize geometrileri, moleküler elektrostatik potansiyel diyagramları, 1H- ve 13C-NMR, FT-IR, UV-Vis spektrumları ve HOMO-LUMO'ları metal iyonları dışındaki atomlar için DFT/B3LYP/6-311G(d,p) seviyesinde metal atomları için ise LANL2DZ temel seti kullanılarak hesaplanmıştır. Elde edilen teorik sonuçların deneysel olanlarla oldukça uyumlu oldukları belirlenmiştir. Sentezlenen komplekslerin imidazol varlığında hidrojen peroksitin disproporsiyonu (katalaz-benzeri aktivite) ve oksijen varlığında 3,5-di-t-bütilkatekolün 3,5-di-t-bütilkinona yükseltgenmesi (katekolaz-benzeri aktivite) reaksiyonlarındaki katalitik etkinlikleri de incelenmiştir. Yapılan bu enzimatik aktivite çalışmalarının sonucunda tüm komplekslerin iyi düzeyde katalaz ve katekolaz-benzeri aktiviteye sahip oldukları tespit edilmiştir. In this thesis, 4-(chloroacetyl)biphenyl molecule was synthesized by reaction of biphenyl and chloroacetyl chloride in the presence of aluminum chloride catalyst. 4-Biphenylhydroxymoylchloride (chloroketooxime) was obtained by the reaction of 4-(chloroacetyl)biphenyl with iso-pentylnitrite in the presence of dry HCl gas. 3,5-dichloroaniline, 4-aminobenzoic acid and 2-aminopropanol amines were added separately to this synthesized chloroketooxime in cold medium and three nowel ligands, which were not recorded in the literature, were obtained. By adding metal salts to these ligands, mononuclear Cu(II) and Mn(II) complexes of each ligand were synthesized and the structures of all compounds obtained were elucidated by elemental analysis, ICP-OES, 1H- and 13C-NMR, FT-IR, UV-Vis, TG-DTG, mangetic susceptibility has been illuminated and molar conductivity studies. Quantum chemical calculations of all synthesized ligands and complexes were also performed. Optimized geometries, molecular electrostatic potential diagrams, 1H- and 13C-NMR, FT-IR, UV-Vis spectra and HOMO-LUMOs of each compound were calculated at the DFT/B3LYP/6-311G(d,p) level for atoms other than metal ions and LANL2DZ basis set for metal atoms. It has been determined that the obtained theoretical results are in good agreement with the experimental ones. The catalytic activities of the synthesized complexes in the reactions of hydrogen peroxide disproportionation in the presence of imidazole (catalase-like activity) and the oxidation of the 3,5-di-t-butylcatechol to 3,5-di-t-butylquinone (catecholase-like activity) in the presence of oxygen were also investigated. As a result of these enzymatic activity studies, it was determined that all complexes had good catalase and catecholase-like activity. Keywords: Oxime, Complex, DFT, Enzyme, Catalase, Catecholase.
