Eriyik elektro-eğirme yöntemi ile polimerlerin mekanik ve bariyer özelliklerinin önemli derecede arttığı, eriyik karıştırma (ekstrüzyon) yöntemi ile de nanopartiküllerin (NP'lerin) polimer matrisinde daha iyi dağılım gösterdiği göstermektedir. Eriyik elektro-eğirme yöntemi yeni ve endüstride uygulanabilir bir yöntemdir. Kompozit filament (KF) üretiminde, polimerlerin eriyik özellikleri elektro-eğirme işleminde kullanılan parametreler optimize edilerek, istenilen yapısal özelliklerde elektrospun malzemeler üretilebilir. Daha yüksek yüzey-hacim oranına sahip ayarlanabilir mekanik ve bariyer özellikli elektrospun malzemeler gıda ambalajında birçok fayda sağlayabilir Ekonomik ve üretilebilir biyopolimer olan polilaktik asit (PLA), geleneksel plastiklere rakip olarak ana polimer olarak seçilmiştir. PLA kırılgan yapısını iyileştirmek için polikaprolakton (PCL) ile karıştırılmıştır. Çinko oksit (ZnO), PLA/PCL karışımının bariyer özelliklerini geliştirmesi için kullanılmıştır. Polietilen glikol (PEG) ise ZnO'in dağılımı ve polimer karışımının kristalizasyon düzenleyicisi olarak kullanılmıştır. PLA, PCL, ZnO ve PEG belirli oranlarda karıştırılarak 155C'ye ısıtılmış ekstrüdere beslenerek KF'ler üretilmiştir. Üretilen PLA/PCL KF'lerin, fonksiyonel grupları fourier dönüşümlü kızılötesi spektroskopisi (FTIR) ile belirlenmiştir. Kristal yapılarının tayini X-ışınımı kırınımı (XRD) cihazı ile, termal özellikleri (camsı geçiş sıcaklığı (Tg), depolama modulü (E') ve kayıp modülü (E″)) dinamik mekanik analiz (DMA) ile ve hidrofobikliği temas açısı ölçümü ile belirlenmiştir. Lifler, yeni bir teknoloji olan eriyik elektro-eğirme yöntemi ile 3D yazıcının nozül ucuna yüksek voltaj verilerek üretilmiştir. Saf PLA filamenti ile mininimum lif çapı için optimum koşullar, uçtan toplayıcıya uzaklık (15/30/45mm), voltaj (5/10/15kV), ekstrüder sıcaklığı (230/240/250ºC) ve ekstrüzyon hızı (0,083; 0,167; 0,25mm/s) gibi parametreler değiştirilerek belirlenmiştir. Üretilen liflerin çapı, optik mikroskop ve SEM ile belirlenmiştir. Minimum lif çapı 230ºC ekstrüder sıcaklığı, 15mm uçtan toplayıcıya uzaklık, 10kV voltaj ve 0,167mm/s ekstrüzyon hızı parametrelerinde 37,80m olarak bulunmuştur. KF'ler optimum koşullarda eriyik elektro-eğrilerek kompozit lifler elde edilmiştir. Kompozit liflerin morfolojisi ve lif çapı SEM, kristal yapı tayini XRD, termal özellikleri (Tg, E' ve E″) DMA ve hidrofobikliği temas açısı ölçümü ile belirlenmiştir. Kompozit liflerin çapları 37,80-347µm aralığında bulunmuştur. Saf PLA filament ve lifinin temas açıları sırasıyla 74,70º ve 105,96º olarak bulunmuştur. Eriyik elektro-eğirme işleminin temas açılarını önemli derecede arttırdığı görülmüştür. Temas açısı ölçümleri, hem katkı malzemelerinin hemde eriyik elektro-eğirme yönteminin hidrofobikliğini göstermiştir. 25ºC'de saf PLA ve KF'lerin E' değerleri 17,97-8,90MPa aralığında gözlenirken, E″ değerleri 0,93-0,29MPa aralığında, kompozit liflerin E' değerleri ise 7,21-5,28MPa aralığında, E″ değerleri 0,25-0,07MPa aralığında gözlendi. Filamentlerin E' ve E″ değerlerinin liflerden daha yüksek olması, hem katkı malzemelerinin hemde eriyik elektro-eğirme yönteminin PLA'nın plastikliğini arttırdığını göstermiştir. It can be said that the mechanical and barrier properties of polymers increase significantly with the melt electrospinning method, and the nanoparticles (NPs) are better dispersed in the polymer matrix with the melt mixing (extrusion) method. The melt electrospinning method is a new and industrially applicable method. In composite filament (KF) production, electrospun materials with desired structural properties can be obtained by optimizing the melt properties of polymers and the parameters used in the electrospinning process. Adjustable mechanical and barrier electrospun materials with a higher surface-to-volume ratio can provide many benefits in food packaging. Polylactic acid (PLA), which is an economical and producible biopolymer, has been chosen as the main polymer as a competitor to traditional plastics. PLA was mixed with polycaprolactone (PCL) to improve its brittle structure. Zinc oxide (ZnO) was used to improve the barrier properties of the PLA/PCL mixture. Polyethylene glycol (PEG) was used as the dispersion of ZnO and crystallization modifier of the polymer mixture. KFs were produced by mixing PLA, PCL, ZnO and PEG in certain proportions and feeding them to the extruder heated to 155C. The functional groups of the produced PLA/PCL KFs were determined by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Crystal structures by X-ray diffraction (XRD) device, thermal properties (glass transition temperature (Tg), storage modulus (E') and loss modulus (E″)) by dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) and hydrophobicity by contact angle measurement were determined. The fibers were produced by applying a high voltage to the nozzle tip of the 3D printer by the melt electro-spinning method, which is a new technology. Optimum conditions for minimum fiber diameter with pure PLA filament, end-to-collector distance (15/30/45mm), voltage (5/10/15kV), extruder temperature (230/240/250ºC) and extrusion speed (0.083; 0.167; 0, 25mm/s) were determined by changing parameters. The diameter of the produced fibers was determined by optical microscope and SEM. Minimum fiber diameter was found to be 37,80m at 230ºC extruder temperature, 15mm end-to-collector distance, 10kV voltage and 0,167mm/s extrusion speed parameters. Composite fibers were obtained by melt electrospinning of KFs under optimum conditions. Morphology and fiber diameter of composite fibers were determined by SEM, crystal structure was determined by XRD, thermal properties (Tg, E' and E″) were determined by DMA and hydrophobicity was determined by contact angle measurement. The diameters of the composite fibers were found in the range of 37,80-347µm. The contact angles of pure PLA filament and fiber were found 74,70º and 105,96º, respectively. It was found that the melt electrospinning process significantly increased the contact angles. Contact angle measurements showed that both the additives and the melt electrospinning method increased the hydrophobicity. At 25ºC while E' values of neat PLA and KFs were observed in the range of 17,97-8,90MPa, E″ values were observed in the range of 0,93-0,29MPa, E' values of composite fibers were observed in the range of 7,21-5,28MPa, E″ values were observed in the range of 0,25-0,07MPa. The fact that the E' and E″ values of the filaments were higher than the fibers showed that both the additives and the melt electrospinning method increased the plasticity of PLA.
