Bu tez kapsamında kromit ve olivin konsantrelerin flotasyon verimine olan etkileri yüksek asidik-yüksek bazik pH değerlerinde (pH 1-12) toplayıcı türü (amin, sülfonat ve oleik asit), toplayıcı miktarı, şartlandırma süresi, hava akış hızı (HAH) ve mineral tane boyutuna bağlı olarak mikro-flotasyon deneyleri gerçekleştirilerek karşılaştırılmalı olarak incelenmiştir. Gerçekleştirilen mikro-flotasyon deneyleri sonuçlarına göre, deneysel çalışmalarda kullanılan katyonik tür toplayıcı olan amin varlığında kromit ve olivinin en yüksek flotasyon verimlerinin benzer bir şekilde pH 7-8 aralığında olduğu ve artan toplayıcı miktarı ile (600-1600 mg/lt) arttığı belirlenmiştir. Olivinin flotasyon verimleri kromitten farklı olarak düşük toplayıcı miktarları ve bazik koşullarda da daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Amin toplayıcısı 1600 mg/lt miktarında, %85 kromit minerali ve %95 olivin yüzerek en yüksek flotasyon verimleri elde edilmiştir. Anyonik tür toplayıcı olan sülfonat varlığında ise flotasyon verimleri yine her iki mineral için de benzer olup, aminden farklı olarak yüksek asidik pH koşullarında elde edilmiştir. Gerek amin gerekse sülfonat kullanılarak gerçekleştirilen mikro-flotasyon deneylerinde flote ürünün büyük bir çoğunluğunun ilk 30 saniye köpük alma süresinde toplandığı belirlenmiştir. Kullanılan toplayıcılar arasında en uzun C-H (hidro karbon) zincir uzunluğuna sahip olan oleik asit ile gerçekleştirilen mikro-flotasyon deneylerinde ise her iki mineral için de en yüksek flotasyon verimleri iki farklı pH bölgesinde (pH 5-6 ve pH 9-10) gerçekleşmiştir. Sonuçlara göre olivinin flotasyon verimleri her iki pH bölgesi için de kromitten daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Mikro-flotasyon deneyleri ile her bir toplayıcı için belirlenen ideal toplayıcı dozajları kullanılarak HAH, şartlandırma süresi ve mineral tane boyut dağılımının etkilerinin incelendiği deneysel sonuçlara göre ise yine her iki mineral için de benzer sonuçlar alınmıştır. Genel bir ifade ile; HAH arttıkça hidrofobik minerallerle hava kabarcıklarının karşılaşma olasığı, dolayısıyla flotasyon verimleri artmıştır. Şartlandırma süresinin artması ise amin dışında diğer toplayıcılar için flotasyon veriminin artması için bir etken olmuştur. Farklı tane boyut aralıklarında gerçekleştirilen deney sonuçlarında ise her iki mineral için de artan mineral tane boyutu ile flotasyon verimlerinin azaldığı belirlenmiştir. Deneysel çalışmalarda kullanılan sınıflandırılmış en ince boyut aralığı olan -150+106 µm için %80 üzerinde flotasyon verimleri elde edilirken, benzer flotasyon koşullarında bu değerin en iri boyut aralığı olan -300+212 µm'da sınıflandırılmış mineral numuneleri için bazı koşullarda %10'un altına düşmüştür. Within the scope of this thesis, the effects of chromite and olivine concentrates on flotation efficiency were examined comparatively by performing micro-flotation experiments at high acidic-high basic pH values (pH 1-12) depending on the collector type (amine, sulfonate and oleic acid), collector amount, conditioning time, air flow rate (AFR) and mineral grain size. According to the results of the micro-flotation experiments, it was determined that the highest flotation yields of chromite and olivine in the presence of amine, which is the cationic species collector used in experimental studies, were similarly in the range of pH 7-8 and increased with the increasing amount of collector (600-1600 mg/lt). Unlike chromium, the flotation yields of Olivin were found to be higher in low collector amounts and basic conditions. The highest flotation yields were obtained by swimming 85% chromite mineral and 95% olivine in the amount of 1600 mg/lt of amine collector. In the presence of sulfonate, which is an anionic collector of species, the flotation efficiencies are similar for both minerals, and unlike amine, they were obtained under high acidic pH conditions. In micro-flotation experiments using both amine and sulfonate, it was determined that the majority of the flotate product could be taken from the foam in the first 30 seconds. In micro-flotation experiments carried out with oleic acid, which has the longest C-H (hydro carbon) chain length among the collectors used, the highest flotation efficiencies for both minerals were realized in 2 different pH regions (pH 5-6 and pH 9-10). According to the results, the flotation yields of olivine were found to be higher than chromite for both pH regions. Similar results were obtained for both minerals according to the experimental results examining the effects of AFR, conditioning time and mineral grain size distribution by using the ideal collector concentrations determined for each collector with micro-flotation experiments. In general terms; as AFR increased, the probability of encountering hydrophobic minerals and air bubbles increased, thus increasing the flotation efficiency. The increase in conditioning time has been a factor for the increase in flotation efficiency for other collectors other than amine. According to the experimental results carried out using different mineral size ranges, it was determined that the flotation efficiencies decreased with increasing mineral particle size for both minerals. While the flotation efficiencies of over 80% were obtained for -150+106 µm, the smallest classified size range used in the experimental studies, under similar flotation conditions this value fell below 10% for mineral samples classified in the largest size range, -300+212 µm.
