Bu araştırmada çalışma alanı olarak seçilen Yalvaç Deresi, Türkiye'nin ikinci büyük tatlı su gölü olan Eğirdir Gölü'nü besleyen önemli kaynaklardan biridir. İçme suyu ve tarımsal sulama amacıyla kullanılan akarsuyun kirliliğinin belirlenmesi, suyun kullanılabilirliğinin devamı için önemli olduğu kadar Eğirdir Gölü'ne taşıdığı kirlilik yükünün belirlenmiş olması açısından da önemlidir. Ayrıca çalışmada akarsuyun makrozoobentik omurgasız faunası ortaya çıkarılmış, bu canlılar ile fizikokimyasal özellikler arasındaki ilişkiler de belirlenmiştir. Arazi çalışmaları Nisan 2022 ve Ocak 2023 tarihleri arasında gerçekleştirilmiş, belirlenen altı istasyondan, mevsimsel peryotlarla su ve makrozoobentik omurgasız örnekleri alınarak incelenmiştir. İstasyonların seçiminde, akarsuya karışan yan kolların bağlantı noktalarının öncesi ve sonrası, akarsuya dışarıdan atık deşarjının olup olmaması, kirletici unsurlar, ulaşım gibi faktörler göz önünde bulundurulmuştur. İlk istasyon kaynak bölgesine oldukça yakın bir konumda yer alırken, son istasyon akarsuyun göle dökülmeden hemen öncesindeki bölgeden seçilmiştir. Makrozoobentik omurgasız örnekleri, bentik el kepçesi kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Çalışma sonunda Gastropoda sınıfına ait 3, Malacostraca sınıfına ait 1, Insecta sınıfına ait 43, Hirudinea sınıfına ait 2 takson olmak üzere toplam 49 takson ve 4940 birey tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca istasyonlarda belirlenen makrozoobentik omurgasız canlıların sıklık, baskınlık, çeşitlilik değerleri ve bu canlılara göre istasyonların benzerlikleri saptanarak, su kalitesi sonuçları ile birlikte değerlendirilmiştir. Benzerlik değerleri incelendiğinde ilk 3 istasyondaki benzerlik değerlerinin birbirine oldukça yakın olduğu, 6. istasyonun ise diğer istasyonlarla arasındaki benzerlik değerlerinin oldukça düşük olduğu görülmüştür. En yüksek benzerlik değeri 1.ve 2. istasyonlar (%75,4) arasında, en düşük değer ise 1. ve 6. istasyonlar (%10,8) arasında tespit edilmiştir. En yüksek çeşitlilik değeri 1.istasyonda, en düşük çeşitlilik değeri 6. istasyonda belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca belirlenen taksonların tamamı, bu akarsu için yeni kayıt olarak bildirilmiştir. Yerüstü Su Kalitesi Yönetmeliği'ne göre (fizikokimyasal veriler kullanılarak) yapılan su kalitesi değerlendirmesinde, çalışma alanında üç farklı su kalitesi basamağı belirlenmiştir. İlk üç istasyon tüm parametrelere göre 1. sınıf su kalitesine sahipken, diğer istasyonların su kalitesinde düşüş olduğu görülmüştür. İlk üç istasyonun kaynak bölgesine yakın olması ve çevrelerinde kirletici unsurun olmaması sebebiyle bu bölgelerde su kalitesinin yüksek olduğu, diğer istasyonlarda ise çevrelerindeki yerleşim yerlerinden kaynaklanan evsel atıklar, tarım alanları, yapılan hayvancılık faaliyetleri nedeniyle su kalitesinin azaldığı belirlenmiştir. Yalvaç Stream, which was chosen as the study area in this research, is one of the important sources feeding Lake Eğirdir, the second largest freshwater lake in Turkey. Determining the pollution of the stream used for drinking water and agricultural irrigation is important not only for the continuation of the usability of water, but also for determining the pollution load it carries to Lake Eğirdir. In addition, the macrozoobenthic invertebrate fauna of the stream was revealed in the study, and the relationships between these organisms and physicochemical features were determined. Field studies were carried out between April 2022 and January 2023, and water and macrozoobenthic invertebrate samples were taken and examined at seasonal periods from six determined stations. In the selection of stations, factors such as before and after the connection points of the tributaries that join the stream, whether there is external waste discharge into the stream, polluting elements and transportation were taken into consideration. While the first station is located very close to the source area, the last station was chosen from the area just before the stream flows into the lake. Macrozoobenthic invertebrate samples were collected using a benthic hand net. At the end of the study, a total of 49 taxa and 4940 individuals were identified, including 3 taxa belonging to the Gastropoda class, 1 taxon belonging to the Malacostraca class, 43 taxa belonging to the Insecta class, and 2 taxa belonging to the Hirudinea class. In addition, the frequency, dominance and diversity values of macrozoobenthic invertebrates identified in the stations and the similarities of the stations with respect to these organisms were determined and evaluated together with the water quality results. When the similarity values were examined, it was seen that the similarity values in the first 3 stations were quite close to each other, while the similarity values of the 6th station with the other stations were quite low. The highest similarity value was detected between the 1st and 2nd stations (75.4%), and the lowest value was found between the 1st and 6th stations (10.8%). The highest diversity value was determined at the 1st station, and the lowest diversity value was determined at the 6th station. Additionally, all of the identified taxa were reported as new records for this stream. In the water quality assessment made according to the Surface Water Quality Regulation (using physicochemical data), three different water quality levels were determined in the study area. While the first three stations had 1st class water quality according to all parameters, a decrease was observed in the water quality of the other stations. It has been determined that the water quality in these regions is high because the first three stations are close to the source region and there are no pollutants around them, while the water quality decreases in the other stations due to domestic waste from the surrounding settlements, agricultural areas and livestock activities.
