Aristoteles mantığının yöntemiyle Foucault'nun yöntem projesi her iki düşünürün bilgi ve bilim anlayışındaki farklılıklar nedeniyle ayrı altyapı ve hedeflere sahiptir. Buna göre Aristoteles mantığının ve analitik düşünme biçiminin yönteminde kesin, sabit, zorunlu ve evrensel bilginin elde edilmesi hedeflenirken, Foucault'nun düşünce sisteminde iktidar ilişkileriyle bağı açıkça gözlemlenebilen, tarihsel ve genel-geçer olma iddiası taşımayan işlevsel yöntemin tespiti ön plana çıkmaktadır. Bu yöntem kurgularında işlevsellik problemi, sürekli güncellenme ihtiyacı olan sosyal bilimler bağlamında en belirgin şekliyle ortaya çıkmaktadır. Çünkü bu alan fen bilimlerinin aksine her zaman formüle edilmiş yöntem anlayışıyla kesinlikçi sonuçların elde edilmesine imkân vermediği gibi insana dair olması nedeniyle değişime açıktır. Foucault'nun analitik yöntem eleştirilerinde özellikle sosyal bilimleri ön plana çıkararak bir eleştiri geleneği yaratmak istemesinin ve alternatif bir arayışın sürekliliğini benimsemesinin muhtemel nedeni de budur. Bu bağlamda çalışmanın amacı, özellikle sosyal bilimler açısından Aristoteles mantığının yöntemi ile Foucault'nun yöntem projesinin kıyaslanması suretiyle işlevsellik odaklı olarak bir tercihte bulunmanın imkânını tartışmakla birlikte, her iki yöntem kurgusunun sahip oldukları farklı düşünsel altyapılardan kaynaklı olarak birbirlerine getirebileceği muhtemel eleştiri, itiraz ve onlara ilişkin yanıtların tespit edilmesiyle kullanım alanlarında herhangi bir ayrıma gitmenin mümkün olup olmadığının araştırılmasıdır. The method of Aristotle's logic and Foucault's method project have different backgrounds and goals due to the differences in their understanding of knowledge and science of both thinkers. According to this, while the method of Aristotle's logic and analytical thinking is aimed at obtaining certain, fixed, necessary and universal knowledge, the determination of the functional method that can be clearly observed in connection with power relations, historical and that does not claim to be general-valid in Foucault's thought system comes to the fore. The problem of functionality in these methodologies arises most clearly in the context of social sciences, which needs constant updating. Because this field does not always allow to reach certain results with a method understanding formulated differently from science and it is open to change because it is related to human beings. This is the possible reason why Foucault wanted to create a tradition of criticism by bringing social sciences to the fore in her critiques of analytical methods and embraced the continuity of an alternative search. In this context, the aim of this study is to discuss the possibility of making a choice with a focus on functionality, especially from the perspective of social sciences, by comparing Aristotle's logical method and Foucault's method project. Additionally, the study aims to explore the possible criticisms, objections, and responses that the two methodological frameworks may bring to each other due to their different intellectual backgrounds, and to investigate whether it is possible to make a distinction between their fields of application.
