Gazzâlî, kelamcı, fakîh, mutasavvıf ve filozof kimliğinin yanı sıra bilimsel tefsîrin temellerini atan önemli bir müfessir olarak da bilinmektedir. Zira bilimsel tefsîrle ilgilenen isimler, büyük ölçüde onun Cevâhiru'l-Kur'ân adlı eserine atıf yaparak düşüncelerini temellendirmişlerdir. Gazzâlî'nin Cevâhiru'l-Kur'ân adlı eserini tefsîr ilmi açısından incelediğimiz bu çalışmanın amacı, eserde tefsîr ilmine dair zikredilen hususların tahlilini yapmak ve bilimsel tefsîre dayanak niteliğindeki bu eserin mahiyetini ortaya koymaktır. Çalışmada Gazzâlî'nin ilmî hayatına dair kısaca bilgi verilmiş, eserin genel özellikleri zikredilmiş ve eserin isminde de yer alan ve yapılan benzetmelerin kaynağını oluşturan cevâhir kelimesi ile alakalı terimlerin tahlili yapılmıştır. Ardından eserde tefsîr ilmine dair yer alan konular kategorize edilerek ele alınmıştır. Bu inceleme neticesinde genel olarak ulaşılan sonuçlar; müellifin Cevâhiru'l-Kur'ân'da ilimleri tasnif ederken, mücevher isimleriyle adlandırma yaparken ve tafdîl konusunu ele alırken sıralamayı mârifetullahı esas alarak yapmış olmasıdır. Bununla beraber Gazzâlî'nin eserde bilimsel tefsîre atıfta bulunarak bir temel oluşturduğu ancak bilimsel tefsîrle alakalı esasları zikretmediği ve açıklamalarda bulunmadığı bilgisine ulaşılmıştır. Gazzali, a notable exegete who also laid the foundations of scientific exegesis, has appeared as a theologian, jurist, mystic, and philosopher. In fact, scholars interested in scientific exegesis often refer to his work, "Cevâhir al-Qur'an", as a basis for their ideas. The aim of this study, which examines Gazzali's Cevahir al-Qur'an from the perspective of tafsir science, is to analyze the mentioned aspects of tafsir science in the work and reveals the nature of this scientific work, which is a source of reference for tafsir. In the study, brief information is introduced about Gazzali's scientific life, the general characteristics of the work are mentioned, and the terms related to the "diamonds" word, which is included in the name of the work and forms the source of the comparisons made, are analyzed. Then, the topics related to tafsir science in the work are categorized and discussed. The general results obtained from this study are that the author of Cevahir al-Qur'an categorizes the sciences by using names of precious stones and deals with the issue of superiority by basing the ranking on the knowledge of God.In addition, it has been found that Gazzali's work would form a basis for scientific tafsir but he had not mentioned the principles of it and did not make explanations.
