Teknoloji ve dijitalleşme diğer alanlar gibi spor alanını da etkileyerek, spor paradigmasına farklı bir boyut kazandırmıştır. Bilgisayar kullanımının yaygınlaşması ve dijital oyunların artması ile oluşan bu boyut sporun uygulama alanlarını sanal ortamlara taşımıştır. Bu ortamda, yeni bir spor aktivitesi olarak e-spor meydana gelmiştir. E-spor'da kendi içerisinde niş spor dallarını oluşturmuştur. Lol, Volarant, CS:GO, Hado vd. bunlardan bazılarıdır. E-spor çoğunlukla gençler tarafından uygulanan bir spor dalıdır. Bu sporun özellikle üniversiteli gençler içerisinde popüler hale gelmesi, e-spor konusunda araştırma yapılmasını gerekli kılmıştır. Bu araştırmada, Türkiye'de 90 ilde e-spor kulübü ve takımı bulunan üniversitelerde e-spor oynayan öğrencilerin motivasyonlarının genel not ortalaması ve yeni sosyal çevre oluşturma değişkenleri üzerinde etkisinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmanın örneklemini Türkiye'de farklı şehirlerde bulunan ve üniversitelerde eğitim gören e-sporda aktif olarak yer alan 558 amatör ve profesyonel e-spor oyuncuları oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada Öz ve Üstün'ün (2019) yılında oluşturdukları beş alt boyuta sahip 'E-spor Motivasyon Ölçeği' ile araştırmacı tarafından oluşturulan kişisel bilgileri ve e-spor bilgilerini içeren demografik bilgi formu kullanılmıştır. Çevrimiçi anket yolu ile elde edilen veriler istatistiksel paket programına aktarılmıştır. E-spor motivasyonları ile değişkenler arasında belirlenen hipotez testleri doğrultusunda korelasyon ve çoklu doğrusal regresyon analizleri uygulanmıştır. E-sporcuların motivasyonlarının genel not ortalaması üzerinde bir etkisinin olmadığı, yeni sosyal çevre oluşturmada pozitif ve anlamlı yönde kısmen etkilediği sonucuna varılmıştır. Ayrıca e-spor motivasyonlarının alt boyutu olan 'Duygu ve Beceri Boyutu' ile 'İlişkisel Benlik Boyutu'nun yeni sosyal çevre oluşturmayı pozitif ve anlamlı yönde etkilediği, 'Rekabet ve Başarı Boyutu' ile 'Boş Zaman Değerlendirme Boyut'larının ise motivasyon üzerinde etkisinin olmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Technology and digitalization have brought a different dimension to the sports paradigm by affecting the sports field as well as in other areas. With the widespread use of computers and the increase in digital games, the application areas of sports have been moved to virtual environments. In this environment, e-sports has emerged as a new sports activity. E-sports has also created niche sports within itself. Lol, Valorant, CS:GO, Hado et al. are some of these. The fact that e- sports users are mostly young people and that e-sports has become increasingly popular among them has led to this study on e-sports. In this study, it was aimed to examine the effect of grade point average (GPA) and creating a new social environment on the motivation of students playing e-sports in universities with e-sports clubs and teams in 90 cities in Turkey. The sample of the study consists of 558 amateur and professional e-sports players who are actively involved in e-sports in different cities in Turkey and studying at universities. In the study, the 'E-sports Motivation Scale' with five sub-dimensions created by Deniz Öz and Ferhat Üstün (2019) and the demographic information form containing the personal information and e-sports information of the players created by the researcher were used. The data obtained through the online questionnaire were transferred to a package program that is widely used for statistical analysis. Correlation and multiple linear regression analyzes were applied in line with the hypothesis tests determined between the e-sports motivations and the variables. It was concluded that the motivation of e-sportsmen did not have an effect on the overall grade point average, but had a positive and significant to be partially effect on creating a new social environment. In addition, it was found that the 'Emotion and Skill Dimension' and the 'Relational Self Dimension', which are the sub-dimensions of e-sports motivations, positively and significantly affect the creation of a new social environment and it also has been determined that 'Competition and Success Dimension' and 'Leisure Time Dimension's have no effect on e-sport motivation.
