Avrupa toplumu 18. yüzyılda Aydınlanma, Endüstri Devrimi ve Fransız Devrimi ile kökten bir değişim içine girmiştir. Aynı sürecin içinde ortaya çıkan doğa felsefesi insan ve doğayı bir bütünün parçaları olarak kabul etmiş; bireyselcilik, özgürlük, duygu, coşku ve hayal gücü gibi kavramları ön plana çıkarmıştır. Özgürleşen toplum içindeki peyzaj ressamları da eserlerinde yeni bir gerçeklik algısı yaratmış, sanatçıyı odağa alan bir yaklaşımla ben merkezli bir anlatım biçimi oluşturmuşlardır. Romantik ressamlar kendi iç dünyalarını yansıttıkları eserlerinde, ışık, renk, fırça kullanımı, perspektif ve kompozisyon konularındaki tercihleriyle geliştirdikleri yeni görme biçimleri yüzlerce yıllık kuralları yıkmış, doğayı resmin ana konusu haline getirmişlerdir. Romantik peyzaj resminde radikal şekilde gerçekleşen tüm bu biçemsel ve yapısal özellikler, çağın içinde bulunduğu sosyolojik yapı ile doğrudan alakalıdır. Bu bağlamda 19. yüzyıl Avrupa'sındaki kültürel ve toplumsal olgular romantik peyzaj resminin poetikasının kavranmasında temel rol oynamaktadır. Bu temel olgular çözümlenmeden romantik peyzaj resminin biçemsel ve anlamsal olarak kavranması olası değildir. Bu problemden yola çıkışla romantik çağ olarak adlandırılan 19. yüzyılın ilk yarısındaki düşünsel, kültürel ve toplumsal olgular üzerinde durulmuştur. İçinde yaşanılan koşullara bakıldığında her dönemin, gerçekliği kendine özgü bir kavrama ve yorumlama biçimi vardır. Bu doğrultuda çalışmada "Romantik peyzaj resimleri estetiğini belirleyen biçemsel ve yapısal temel değişmezler, sanatçının iç dünyasını şekillendiren toplumsal ve kültürel olgular tarafından belirlenmektedir" savından yola çıkarak romantik sürece ilişkin kimi tanımlamaların ardından, romantik peyzaj resminin biçemsel ve yapısal özelliklerini irdeleyerek poetikasının ortaya konması ve bu olguların sanatçıların resimlerine nasıl etki ettiği belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda tezin yöntemine ilişkin; göstergebilim evreninde kimi veriler kullanılarak ve poetika yöntemi ile karşıtlıklar, benzerlikler ve farklılıklar üzerine yoğunlaşarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. European society underwent a radical change in the 18th century with the Enlightenment, the Industrial Revolution and the French Revolution. The natural philosophy that emerged in the same process accepted human and nature as parts of a whole; he brought concepts such as individualism, freedom, emotion, enthusiasm and imagination to the fore. Landscape painters in the liberated society also created a new perception of reality in their works and created a self-centered expression style with an approach that focuses on the artist. Romantic painters, in their works, in which they reflect their inner world, have developed new ways of seeing with their preferences in light, color, brush use, perspective and composition, overturned centuries-old rules and made nature the main subject of painting. All these formal and structural features that occur radically in romantic landscape painting are directly related to the sociological structure of the era. In this context, cultural and social phenomena in 19th century Europe play a fundamental role in understanding the poetics of romantic landscape painting. It is not possible to comprehend the romantic landscape painting formally and semantically without analyzing these basic facts. Starting from this problem, the intellectual, cultural and social phenomena of the first half of the 19th century, which is called the romantic age, are emphasized. Considering the conditions in which they live, each period has its own way of comprehending and interpreting reality. In this direction, starting from the thesis that "The stylistic and structural fundamental constants that determine the aesthetics of romantic landscape paintings are determined by the social and cultural phenomena that shape the inner world of the artist", after some definitions regarding the romantic process, the poetics of romantic landscape painting will be revealed by examining its stylistic and structural features and these phenomena will be revealed. It has been tried to determine how the artists affect their paintings. For this purpose, regarding the method of the thesis; It was carried out by using some data in the semiotics universe and by focusing on the contrasts, similarities and differences with the poetics method.
