İnsanın çevreye ve doğaya verdiği tahribattan dolayı sürdürülebilirlik kavramı önem kazanmaktadır. Tekstil ve moda endüstrisi çevreyi kirleten endüstriler arasında önemli bir yere sahiptir. Her yeni moda, bir öncekinin baskısına karşı yıkım olsa da modanın kıt olan kaynakları israf ettiğine, zararlı emisyonlara katkısına toprak kalitesi ve biyolojik çeşitlilik gibi doğanın hayati unsurlarını bozduğuna dair farkındalık oluşturulmaktadır. Çalışmada, tekstil ve moda endüstrisinde kullanılan kimyasal boyalar yerine doğada yetişen bitkiler ve bitkilerin kabukları kullanarak ham pamuklu dokuma kumaşlar sanayi tipi numune boyama makinesinde boyanıp, serigrafi baskı yapılmıştır. Boyanın özütünü oluştururken kullandığımız bitkinin posasını toprağa atarak kompostlaştırılır. Kazandaki boya banyosunun suyu da bahçe sulamada kullanarak doğaya geri dönüşümü sağlanmaktadır. Büyüyen tekstil ve moda endüstrisinde boyama ve baskı bölümünde kullanılan kimyasal maddelerin kullanımını ve doğaya verdiğimiz zararın farkındalığını sağlamak için bu tez konusu seçilmiştir. Çalışmanın ilk bölümünde sürdürülebilir tekstil ve modanın tanımı, tarihçesi ve kavramsal boyutu açıklanmaktadır. İkinci bölümünde tekstil ve moda tasarımında bitkisel boya-baskı'nın tanımı, tarihçesi ve yöntemleri, diğer bölümde ise tekstil ve moda tarihinde nostalji dönemi ele alınmıştır. Son bölümde ise boyanan ve baskı yapılan kumaşlardan nostalji dönemini yansıtacak "üç nesil bir arada" temalı bir koleksiyon çalışması yapılmıştır. Böylece giysilerin nesilden nesile aktarılarak sürdürülebilirliğini sağlamak amaçlanmıştır. The concept of sustainability gains importance due to the damage caused by human beings to the environment and nature. Textile and Fashion industry has an important place among the industries that pollute the environment. Although each new fashion is a destruction against the pressure of the previous one, awareness is being created that fashion wastes scarce resources, contributes to harmful emissions and disrupts vital elements of nature such as soil quality and biodiversity. In the study, instead of chemical dyes used in the textile and fashion industry, raw cotton woven fabrics were dyed and screen printed on an industrial sample dyeing machine using plants and plant barks grown in nature. The pulp of the plant we use to create the extract of the dye is composted by throwing it into the soil. The water from the dye bath in the boiler is recycled back to nature by using it for garden irrigation. This thesis topic was chosen to raise awareness of the use of chemicals used in dyeing and printing in the growing textile and fashion industry and the damage we cause to nature. In the first part of the study, the definition, history and conceptual dimension of sustainable textile and fashion are explained. In the second part, the definition, history and methods of vegetable dyeing-printing in textile and fashion design, and in the other part, the nostalgia period in the history of textiles and fashion are discussed. In the last part, a collection study with the theme of "three generations together" was made to reflect the nostalgia period from the dyed and printed fabrics. Thus, it is aimed to ensure the sustainability of the clothes by transferring them from generation to generation.
