Bu çalışma bilimsel görüşlerin ışığında geliştirilen ölümsüzlük düşüncesinin Türk Edebiyatı'ndaki yansımalarına odaklanmaktadır. Çalışmanın temeline oturtulan düşünceler transhümanizm ve posthümanizm düşünceleridir. Transhümanizm, bilinen insan formunun değişmesi gerektiğini ileri sürmektedir. Buna göre insan kusurludur ve bu kusurlarını gidererek mükemmel bedene ulaşma yolunda adımlar atılmalıdır. Transhümanizm, mükemmel tek varlık olarak insanı işaret ederek çalışmalarında kusursuz insanı bulmaya/yaratmaya yönelmektedir. Posthümanizm de tıpkı transhümanizm gibi bilinen insan formunun değişmesi gerektiğini savunsa da insanın mükemmel olduğunu ya da mükemmele ulaşması gerektiğini iddia etmez. Bunun aksine posthümanizm, insan sonrası dönemde yaşanan değişimlerin sadece insan odaklı değil bütün canlıları kapsayacak değişimler olması gerektiğini düşünmektedir. Bu iki düşüncenin amacı ölümsüzlüğü bir nevi mümkün kılmak hatta ölümsüz yaşamları sıradan hale getirmektir. Bu amaçla tıp, genetik araştırmalar, biyolojik çalışmalar, din, sinema, televizyon ve edebiyat ile olumlu/olumsuz ilişkilere girerek toplumsal düşünceye yerleşmiş mutlak ölümlü hayatların değişebileceğine dair çalışmalar üzerinde dururlar. Türk Edebiyatı'nda da bu düşünceleri barındıran eserler olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu eserler genellikle 2000'li yılların başından itibaren okuyucu ile buluşmuş henüz yeni sayılabilecek eserlerdir. Ancak ölümsüzlük fikrinin gittikçe popüler hâle geliyor olması, transhümanizm ve posthümanizm gibi düşüncelerin de eserlerde daha fazla işlenmesini gerektirmektedir. Ölümsüzlük peşindeki insanın ölümden kaçmaya çalıştığı hikâyelere tarih boyunca ilgi duyulmuştur. Ölümsüzlüğe duyulan bu ilgi, geçmişin efsane ve mitlerinden günümüzün hikâye, roman ve sinemasına taşınmış, kurgusal söylemlerden bilimsel düşüncelere dönüşmüş ve ulaşılması mümkün bir keşfe doğru yol almıştır. This study focuses on the reflections of the idea of immortality developed in the light of scientific views in Turkish Literature. The thoughts on the basis of the study are the thoughts of transhumanism and posthumanism. Transhumanism argues that the known human form must change. Accordingly, people are imperfect and steps should be taken to reach the perfect body by eliminating these flaws. By pointing out the human being as the only perfect being, transhumanism tends to find/create the perfect human in its works. Although posthumanism, just like transhumanism, argues that the known human form should change, it does not claim that human beings are perfect or that they should reach perfection. On the contrary, posthumanism thinks that the changes experienced in the post-human period should not only be human-oriented, but should include all living things. The purpose of these two ideas is to make immortality possible, and even to make immortal lives ordinary. For this purpose, they focus on studies that show that absolute mortal lives can be changed by establishing positive/negative relations with medicine, genetic research, biological studies, religion, cinema, television and literature. It has been determined that there are works that contain these ideas in Turkish Literature. These works are generally new works that have met with the reader since the beginning of the 2000s. However, the increasing popularity of the idea of immortality necessitates further processing of ideas such as transhumanism and posthumanism in the works. Throughout history, there has been an interest in the stories where people who seek immortality try to escape from death. This interest in immortality has moved from the legends and myths of the past to today's stories, novels and movies, has turned from fictional discourses to scientific thoughts and has taken the path towards an accessible discovery. At the point reached today, immortality has become something that is defended by scientific views and gathered strong supporters.
