Bu çalışma, İsmâil Ferrûh Efendi (ö. 1840) tarafından tercüme edilen Tefsîr-i Mevâkib adlı eserin, 'ulûmu'l-Kur'ân özellikleri açısından incelenmesini konu edinmektedir. Tefsîr-i Mevâkib ise Hüseyin Vâiz-i Kâşifî'nin (ö. 910/1504) Farsça tefsîri olan Mevâhib-i ʿAliyye (Tefsîr-i Hüseynî)'nin bir tercümesidir. İsmâil Ferrûh Efendi'nin söz konusu tercümesi, XIX. yüzyıl Osmanlı toplumunda büyük ilgiyle karşılanmış ve geniş bir okuyucu kitlesi tarafından rağbet görmüştür. Tefsîr-i Mevâkib, sade bir dile sahip olması ve tercüme-tefsîr metodu gibi birtakım özellikleriyle döneminin üslubunu yansıtan önemli eserlerden biri olarak kabul edilmektedir. Tefsîr-i Mevâkib'de ilgili âyetlerin izahı bağlamında esbâb-ı nüzûl ve kasasu'l-Kur'ân başta olmak üzere mekkî-medenî, nâsih-mensûh, muhkem-müteşâbih gibi birçok Kur'ân ilmine dair konular yer almaktadır. Bu konular, İsmâil Ferrûh Efendi'nin tercüme-tefsîr anlayışını ortaya koymanın yanı sıra, onun Kur'ân ilimlerine dair izahlarının tespit edilmesi açısından da önem arz etmektedir. Buna göre çalışmamızın temel amacı, İsmâil Ferrûh Efendi'nin Tefsîr-i Mevâkib adlı eserini tercüme ve tefsîr anlayışı açısından incelemek ve bu eserdeki Kur'ân ilimlerine dair verileri ele alıp değerlendirmektir. Böylece mütercimin eserdeki kendine özgün üslubunun tespitine çalışılacaktır. Mevâhib-i Aliyye'nin bir tercümesi olması hasebiyle Tefsîr-i Mevâkib, mütercimin kendine ait izahları ya da ihtisarları içermesi gibi yönlerden de mukayeseli olarak irdelenecektir. This study is about the examination of Tafsir al-Mawakib, translated by Ismail Ferruh Efendi (d. 1840), in terms of Ulum al Qur'an characteristics. Tafsir al-Mawakib, on the other hand, is a translation of Mawahib al-Aliyya (Tafsir-i Hüseyni), which is the Persian commentary of Husayn Vaiz Kâşhifi's (d. 910/1504). İsmail Ferruh Efendi's translation was met with great interest in the 19th century Ottoman society and attracted attention from a wide readership. Tafsir al-Mawakib is considered to be one of the important works that reflect the style of its period with its features such as its simple language and translation-interpretation method. In Tafsir al-Mawakib, in the context of explanation of the relevant verses, there are many topics related to the sciences of the Qur'an, such as makki-madani, nâsih-mansûh, muhkem-muteşâbih, especially asbab al-nuzul and kassu'l-Qur'an. These topics are important in terms of revealing İsmail Ferruh Efendi's understanding of translation and interpretation, as well as determining his explanations of the Qur'anic sciences. Accordingly, the main purpose of our study is to examine İsmail Ferruh Efendi's work, Tafsir al-Mawakib, in terms of translation and tafsir understanding, and to consider and evaluate the data regarding the Qur'anic sciences in this work. Thus, it will be tried to determine the translator's unique style in the work. Since it is a translation of Mawahib al-Aliyya, Tafsir al-Mawakib will be explained comparatively in terms of including the translator's own explanations or specialties.
