Yusuf Ziya Yörükân, Osmanlı'nın son ve Cumhuriyet'in ilk dönemlerinde yaşamış önemli bir âlimdir. Türkiye'de ilk defa kurulan Ankara Üniversitesi İlahiyat Fakültesi'nin öğretim üyelerinden birisi olması sebebiyle yapmış olduğu çalışmalar önemlidir. İlahiyat Fakültesi'nin birçok temel alanında uzman olan Yörükân'ın İslâm Tarihi ve Siyer alanındaki çalışmaları dikkat çekmektedir. Araştırmamızda literatür tarama, inceleme, veri toplama, toplanan verileri karşılaştırma, sınıflandırma ve analiz yöntemleri uygulanmış ve 1920'li yıllarda yazılmış eserlerinden başlanarak günümüze kadar ulaşan eserleri incelenmiştir. İslâm Tarihi'nin temel kaynaklarıyla gerekli karşılaştırmalar yapılmış ve elde edilen veriler sınıflandırılarak anlatılmıştır. Çalışmamızın konusu açısından Yusuf Ziya Yörükân'ın en çok faydalandığımız iki eseri; Hz. Muhammed'in Doğumundan Ölümüne Kadar İslâm Dini Tarihi ile Peygamberimiz isimli kitaplarıdır. Yusuf Ziya Yörükân'ın, Hz. Peygamber'in hayatını anlatan özgün bir eseri İslâm Tarihine kazandırdığını ve İslâm Tarihindeki olaylara kendi yaşadığı döneme göre özgün bir bakış açısıyla yaklaştığı tespit edilmiştir. Yusuf Ziya Yörükân is an impotant scholar who lived in the last period of the Ottoman Empire and the early periods of the Republic. His studies are important as he is one of the faculty members of Ankara University Faculty Divinity, which was established for the first time in Turkey. Yörükân, who is an expert in many basic fields of the Faculty Divinity, attracts attention with his works in the field of Islamic History and Sirah. In our research, the works that have survived to until new from the works written in the 1920s until today, were examined by applying literature consulting, examination, data collection, comparison of the collected data, classification and analysis methods. Necessary comparisons were made with the basic sources of Islamic History and the obtained data were classified and explained. In terms of the subject of our study, the two works of Yusuf Ziya Yörükân that we benefited from the most are; his books titled as the History of the Islamic Religion from Muhammad's Birth to His Death and Our Prophet. It has been determined that Yusuf Ziya Yörükân brought an original work describing the life of the Prophet to the history of Islam and that he approached the events in Islamic history from a unique perspective according to the period in which he lived.
