Memlûkler, (648/1250) tarihinde Mısır'da kurulmuş bir devlettir. Bu dönemde, başta tarih olmak üzere hadis, fıkıh, tefsir, lügat, tabakât, terâcim gibi pek çok alanda eserler telif eden âlimler yetişmiştir. el-Kalkaşendî (ö. 821/1418) bu dönemin önde gelen âlimlerinden biridir. Bu çalışmada el-Kalkaşendî'nin kısaca hayatı ve Arap dili ve edebiyatına yaklaşımı incelenmiştir. el-Kalkaşendî, ilgili konuları divan katipliği yaptığı, alanında "Subhu'l-Aʿşâ" adlı eseriyle meşhur olduğu, divan katiplerinin bilmesi gerektiği bilgileri bu kitabında ele almış, bunların her birini detaylıca incelemiştir. Arap dilini bilmenin gerekliliği, fazileti, diğer dillere olan üstünlüğü, nahiv, sarf, şiir, belagat ilimleri ve atasözleri gibi birçok konuyu ele alması açısından Arap dili ve edebiyatına önemli ölçüde katkısının olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu çalışma, üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. "Birinci Bölüm" Memlûkler Döneminde yaşamış olan ansiklopedik özellikteki Subhu'l-Aʿşâisimli eserin sahibi el-Kalkaşendî'nin kısaca hayatı, eserleri, ilmi kişiliği, dönemin siyasi ve kültürel yapısı ile ilgilidir. "İkinci Bölümde" üslûba dair bilgiler, tanımı, önemi, mahiyeti ve üslûp çeşitleri; "Üçüncü Bölüm" Subhu'l-Aʿşâ'nın muhteviyatı ve çalışmanın esasını teşkil eden edebî üslûp açısından tahlili yapılmıştır. Mamluks are a state founded in Egypt in (648/1250). During this period, scholars were educated who wrote works in many fields, especially history, hadith, fiqh, tafsir, dictionary, tabaqat and terâcim. el-Kalkaşendî (d. 821/1418) is one of the leading scholars of this period. In this study, al-Kalkaşendî's life and his approach to Arabic language and literature were briefly examined. In this book, el-Kalkaşendî discussed the relevant subjects, that he was a divan clerk, that he was famous in his field with his work called Subhu'l-Aʿşâ, and the information that the divan clerks should know, and examined each of them in detail. It has been determined that it has made a significant contribution to the Arabic language and literature in terms of addressing many issues such as the necessity of knowing the Arabic language, its virtue, its superiority over other languages, syntax, grammar, poetry, rhetoric and proverbs. This study consists of three parts. "Part One" is briefly about the life, works, scientific personality, political and cultural structure of the period of al-Kalkaşendî, the author of the encyclopedic work titled Subhu'l-Aʿşâ, who lived during the Mamluk Period. In the "Second Part", information about style, its definition, importance, nature and types of style; In the "Third Chapter", Subhu'l-Aʿşâ content and literary style, which forms the basis of the study, were analyzed.
