dc.description The aim of this study was to determine the effect of plyometric training method on vertical jump prformance and block-above shot hitting ratio at 15-17 age group hentball players who take education from Şarkikaraağaç METEM High School. Mean age 15,86±0,8 years, mean sport age 4±1,9 years, mean height 173,50±6,8 cm and mean body weight 65±12.611 kg of handball players participated to research. 6-weeks plyometric training program was applied to players. Begining and end of training programs, vertical jump, one leg vertical jump, flexibility, standing long jump, 20 m speed, 40 m speed, hendball throwing, pull up, 30 seconds shuttle, 30 seconds push up and block-above shot tests were applied to determine in developments of biomotoric features and block-above shot performance of hentballer participated to research. Paired t test in SPSS 15.0 for Windows program were used to determine differences between pre-re test.It was established that there were significant developments in hentballers‟ vertical jump, one leg vertical jump, flexibility, standing long jump, healthball throwing, 30 seconds push up, 30 second shuttle and pull up performances (p<0,05). When pre- test values were compared, it was determined that there was no significant difference in 20 m and 40 m speed and block-above shot performances. Besides, it was established that there was statistically significant relationship vertical jump and block-above shot performance in pre test (p<0,05), there was no statistically significant relationship vertical jump and block-above shot performance in pre-test (p>0,05).As a result, it was determined that plyometric training method develop some biomotoric features in hentballer, as opposite to vertival jump performance don't effect on bloch-above shot. Keywords : Handball, plyometrics, block-above shot hitting.
