In this study an absorption cooling system in a vehicle cabinet will be determined which using waste heat to the environment from exhaust gases on internal combustion engines, which will prevent negative effects of conventional air conditioner systems on vehicle engines and which will create an alternative to cabinet cooling systems at today automobiles. In this project, a designed and manufactured absorption cooling system is analyzed. In the cooling system, NH3-H2O fluid couple was used. From this fluid couple, ammonia is used as refrigerant, water is used as absorbent. Exhaust gas is provided from an air cooled diesel generator which has 7 kW power. As a result of measurements it is seen that the heat requirement for absorption cooling systems provided by exhaust gas which ejected to atmosphere. In this study, for the chosen system and according to the result determined, in vehicle air conditioning, low capacity absorption cooling systems to take advantage of exhaust gas, used as support systems for normal vehicle air conditioning. Or in big vehicles like bus or trucks, these systems are used only food and water cooling but not for comfort. Keywords: Refrigeration, Absorption Refrigeration, Transport Refrigeration, Internal Combustion Engine Heat Recovery |
