Bu çalışmada, günümüzde artık bir konfor haline gelen ve akıllı bina olarak tanımlanan, elektrik ve elektroniğin, mekanik sistemlere uygulanması sonucu ortaya çıkan yeniliklerden, insanlara sağladığı kolaylıklardan, uygulamalar sonucu yatırım ve işletme maliyetlerine etkilerinden bahsedilmiştir. Çalışmada yer yer, otomasyona bağlı sistemlerin analizlerinden bahsedilmiştir ve örneklerle detaylandırılmıştır. Araştırma sonucu, ilk yatırım maliyetlerinin artmasına rağmen, akıllı bina tanımında yapılan binalardaki, işletme kolaylıkları ve sistemin kazançları ortaya çıkarılmıştır. In this study, the innovations which have been defined as 'smart buildings', that have come to existence as a result of application of electric and electronics, the conveniences they provide to people, and their effects on operational costs as a result of the applications have been discussed. In the study, in several places, analyses of automation dependant systems have been discussed and have been detailed with examples. In conclusion of the research, despite the increase in the initial investment cost, the operational conveniences of the buildings that are built in accordance with the 'smart building' description, and the gains of the system have been revealed.
