In this research, the optimization of removal of lead which is toxic or poisonous at low concentrations from aqueous solutions by adsorption process using mordenite was realized, and the determination of the lead ion removal capacity of ionexchangeable mordenite type zeolite was studied. 1.6-2.0 mm sized zeolites were used in the experiments and lead removal yields were determined. Optimization was obtained by working with batch experimental conditions under different adsoription time durations, different mixing rates, different lead concentrations, and different temperatures. At the end of the experimental study,84.0085 % lead removal was obtained at 49.910C temperature in 87.15 minute when the lead concentration was10.0 mg/L. Experimental results were evaluated by applying Langmuir, Freundlich, Redlich-Peterson, and Toth isotherms. It was found that lead adsorption data were best suitable to the Freundlich isotherm. In the concept of the research, kinetic invstigations were also realized for the adsorption of lead by zeolite and it was found that reaction kinetic was .4.4. st-order. Keywords: Lead; Adsorption; Mordenite; Optimization; Isotherm; Kinetic |
