Bu tez çalışmasında bazı omurgalı ve omurgasız türlerini kontrol altında tutan Kukumavın (Athene noctua) beslenme özellikleri, Aralık 2012 – Kasım 2013 tarihleri arasında Isparta ve ilçelerinde araştırılmıştır. Türün Isparta’daki yaşam alanları belirlenerek peletlerin bırakıldığı alanlar tespit edilmiştir. Her alandan toplanan peletlerin morfometrik ölçümleri alınarak ortalama değerleri ve frekans analizleri belirlenmiştir. Pelet toplanan ilçelerden en fazla Keçiborlu’da 1951 ve en azı Yalvaç’ta 98 birey görülmüştür. Pelet analizinde omurgasızlardan; Coleoptera (% 45), Orthoptera (% 25), Dermaptera (% 23), Pulmonata (% 1), Haplotaxida (% 1) ve Scolopendromorpha (% 0,1) takımlarına ait kalıntılar belirlenmiştir. Omurgalılardan ise; Rodentia (% 4), Insectivora (% 1) ve Passeriformes (% 0,9) takımlarına ait sindirilmemiş kısımlar gözlenmiştir. Toplanan peletlerin analizi sonucunda, ölçümleri büyük olan peletlerin içerisinde omurgalı bireyleri yoğunlukta iken, ölçümleri küçük olan peletlerde omurgasız bireylerinin yoğunlukta olduğu saptanmıştır.Tarımsal ekonomi açısından önemli olan türün biyolojik özelliklerinden elde edilen bulguların bundan sonraki çalışmalara altlık oluşturcağı ve koruma programlarına katkı sağlaması beklenmektedir. In this study, feeding features of Little Owl (Athene noctua) which controls some vertebrate and invertebrate species were investigated in Isparta centrum and its surroundings during December 2012-November 2013. After determining the habitats of the species, the areas having pellets were defined. We measured morphometric features of each pellet collected in the areas, and determined average values and made frequency analysis of them.Amongst the pellet collected counties, the highest number of individuals was observed as 1951 in Keçiborlu and the fewest number was 98 in Yalvaç. In pellet analysis, we determined that the most of the invertebrate componenents found belong to Coleoptera (45%), Orthoptera (25%), Dermaptera (23%), Pulmonata (1%), Haplotaxida (1%) and Scolopendromorpha (0,1%) ordos. Also, we observed indigested vertabrate parts of Rodentia (4%), Insectivora (1%) and Passeriformes (0,9%) ordos.As a results of the analysis of pellets, it was determined that vertebrate individuals were mostly in the bigger pellets while invertebrates were in smaller ones.We hope that the findings about biological features of this species which holds agricultural importance to provide fundamental base for following studies, and to support conservation programmes.
