Semantik Web URI, XML isim uzayı ve XML şemaları vb. kavramlar ve biçimler üstüne inşa edilmiş RDF, RDFS, OWL vb. kendi içinde özel kurallar barındıran ontoloji dilleri ve bu ontolojilerde gezinerek istenen içeriğe ulaşabilen zeki ajanlar ya da ontoloji üstünde sorgu yapılan çeşitli dillerden (SPARQL vb.) oluşan yapıya sahip bir web teknoljisidir. Bu yapı sadece insanların anlayabildiği web içeriğinin bilgisayarlarca da anlaşılabilir ve işlenebilir olmasına olanak tanımaktadır.Sistem, bir amacı gerçekleştirmek için birbirleriyle etkileşim içinde bulunan eleman veya bileşen kümesi olarak tanımlanabilir. Bir bilgi sistemi ise çevresinden aldığı verileri işlem basamağında işleyerek ürettiği bilgileri çıktı olarak yayan ve bu süreci geri besleme ile kontrol eden bileşenler veya elemanlar kümesidir.Günümüzde turistik bir bölgeye ait veri ve bilgiler dijital ortama aktarılarak organize edilmekte böylece turistik verilerden daha etkin şekilde faydalanılabilmektedir. Bu amaçla tasarlanan Turizm Bilgi Sistemleri, elindeki turistik verileri bilgiye çevirerek son kullanıcıya sunan sistemlerdir. Turizm Bilgi Sistemleri işletme ve topluluklardaki tüm bilgi kanallarını kullanarak turistik bir çekicilik yaratma amacı güden özelleşmiş bilgi sistemi çeşididir.Bu tez çalışmasında Semantik Web teknolojileri kullanılarak bir Turizm Bilgi Sistemi tasarımı gerçekleştirilmiştir. Tasarım kapsamında konaklama, kullanıcı ve etkinlikyer ontolojileri geliştirilmiş, bu ontolojiler çerçevesinde üretilen RDFa sayfalarında tutulan bilgilere yine bu sayfalar üzerinden ulaşılmıştır. The Semantic Web consists of concepts and formats of URIs, XML namespaces, XML Schemas etc. which form the infrastructure of RDF, RDFS, OWL etc. types of ontologies. These ontologies have a specific inference rules in it. The intelligent agents, on the other hand, retrieve the necessary data or information that the ontologies consist of. There are also some query languages like SPARQL to execute queries on the ontologies. All these are to make the web understandable not only by humans but the machines.A system is a set of elements or components which interacts with one another to achieve a goal. An Information System collects data or information from its environment, processes them and gives the processed information as output back to its environment. It also checks this whole process by its feedback function.Today, touristic data and information is organized by transferring them into a digital platform so it is more effective and beneficial that way. Tourism Information Systems which are designed for this purpose convert the touristic data to information for the last user. It is a specialized Information System focused on using all the information channels to attract tourists in the communities and enterprises.In this thesis a Tourism Information System is designed using Semantic Web Technologies. This design consists of RDFa pages which store the information referenced by accommodation, user and events/places ontologies. The stored information is obtained and used from these RDFa pages.
