Bu çalışmada, Muş ilinde manda yetiştiriciliği faaliyetinin ekonomik analizi yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın ana materyalini, yörede manda yetiştiriciliğinin yoğun olarak yapıldığı Muş ili Merkez, Korkut ve Hasköy ilçelerinde faaliyet gösteren işletmelerden tabakalı tesadüfi örnekleme yöntemiyle seçilen 94 adet işletmeden anket yoluyla elde edilen veriler oluşturmuştur. Araştırma verileri 2013 yılı üretim dönemine aittir. Araştırma bulgularına göre gayri safi üretim değerinin %37.85'ini bitkisel üretim değeri, %62.15'ini ise hayvansal üretim değeri oluşturmaktadır. İşletmelerde toplam gayri safi üretim değeri içinde en büyük payı manda yetiştiriciliği (%45.71) almaktadır. Üretim masraflarının (22.310.05 TL) %51.44'ünü sabit masraflar, %48.56'sını değişken masraflar oluşturmuştur. Değişen masrafların içerisinde en büyük payı yem masrafları (%75.81) almaktadır. Bölgedeki işletmelerde süt maliyeti 1.23 TL/kg olarak hesaplanmıştır. Bölgede manda yetiştiriciliğinin iyileştirilebilmesi için; süt verimini artırmaya yönelik ıslah çalışmalarının devamının sağlanması, işletmecilerin modern teknikler konusunda bilgilendirilmesi, işletme ölçeklerinin büyütülmesine dönük politikaların geliştirilmesi, manda sütü ve ürünlerinin farkındalığını artırmaya yönelik bölgesel ve ülkesel çapta politikaların izlenmesi yarar sağlayabilecektir. Purpose of this study is to analysis social-economic structure of buffalo fattening enterprises in the province of Muş of Turkey. 94 enterprises were chosen by the method of stratified sampling in the Center, Korkut and Hasköy counties where buffalo fattening is intensely done in the Muş province. Data was collected from the enterprises by surveys. This data constituted the main material of the research and it was belonged to the 2013 production periods. Findings of the research indicated that plant production constituted 37.85% while animal production made up 62.15% of the gross production value. Biggest share in the gross production value belonged to production of water buffalo fattening (45.71%). Fixed and variable cost were 51.44% and 48.56% of the production cost (which is 22310.05 TL) respectively. Largest part of variable cost was the cost of the feed (75.81%). Cost of the milk was calculated as 1.23 TL/kg in the region. Consequently, it will be important ensuring the continuation breeding studies to increase milk yield, giving information to farmers about modern techniques, developing of policies for increasing scales of the enterprises and the implantation of regional and national policies for increasing the awareness of buffalo milk and products.
