Bu tez çalışmasında antik dönemde bir kentin, kent statüsüne sahip olabilmesi için gerekli dinamiklerin neler olduğu hakkında bilgi verildi. Bu bilgilerden yola çıkarak antik dönemde bir kentte bulunması gereken yapılar incelendi ve kentteki sosyal, dini ve ticari yaşam merkezi olan agora anlatıldı. Antik dönemdeki önemli kentlerden olan Laodikeia antik kentinin kuruluşu, gelişimi ve mimari yapıları anlatıldıktan sonra Kuzey (Kutsal) Agora yapısı bu tez kapsamında detaylıca incelendi. Yerli ve yabancı literatür kaynakları, arazi gözlem ve incelemelere ilişkin dokümanlar, fotoğraflar, o döneme ait harita ve planlar kullanılarak elde edilen veriler ışığında Kuzey (Kutsal) Agora yapısının sekiz evre geçirdiği anlatıldı. Agora yapısının 2. ve 4. yüzyıl kullanım evrelerine ait görünümü, iki ve üç boyutlu çizimlerle canlandırıldı. Agoraya 2. ve 4. yüzyıl dönem için restitüsyon önerisi verilmesinin nedeni agoranın özgün döneminin M. S. 2. yüzyıl olması ve 4. yüzyılda ise köklü değişiklikler geçirerek günümüzdeki halini almasıdır. Kuzey (Kutsal) Agora yapısının restitüsyon projeleri kendi içinde karşılaştırılarak, anastylosis çalışmalarında kullanılacak restorasyon projesine katkı sağlayacak öneriler geliştirildi. In this thesis, information concerning the necessary dynamics for a city in ancient times to have societal status is presented. Further, the structures that must be found in a city in ancient times are examined and the agora which is a city's center for social, religious, and business life, is explained. After detailing the establishment, development, and architectural structures of Laodicea, a prominant city in ancient times, its Northern (Holy) Agora structure is considered in detail in this thesis. Obtained using native and foreign literature, land surveys, research documents, photographs, as well as maps and plans from the time period, information related to several phases of construction of the Northern (Holy) Agora is presented. The structure in its 2nd and 4th century phases is put to life with two and three dimensional drawings. The reason the restitution of the 2nd and 4th century phases of the agora was suggested is because of the agora's uniqueness in the 2nd century and because of the root changes that the agora experienced from the 4th century until now. By comparing the Northern (Holy) Agora structure's restitution projects with one another, suggestions were considered using anastylosis studies that will contribute to the restoration project.
