Kentsel ticaretin en önemli aktörleri hiç şüphesiz ki esnaf ve sanatkarlardır. Esnaf ve sanatkar kesiminin sayısal büyüklüğü dikkate alındığında ülkemiz için hem ekonomik hem de toplumsal açıdan büyük önemdedir. Bu işletmelerin sektörel ve bölgesel özelliklerine uygun yeterli analizler olmadığından, geleceğe yönelik politika ve programların geliştirilmesinde güçlükler yaşanmaktadır. Bu çalışma ile Isparta İl merkezinde gıda hizmet sektöründe faaliyet gösteren esnaflar ve mikro ölçekli işletmelerin ulusal ve bölgesel bazda yaşadığı sorunlar araştırılmıştır. Konuya ek olarak bu işletmelerin yerel ekonomi ile ilişkisi belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Yerel ekonomi ile ilişkiler kamu kurum ve kuruluşları, tedarikçiler ve müşteriler açısından değerlendirilmiştir. Konuya ilişkin en uygun veri toplama yöntemi olarak anket seçilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, Isparta ilinde faaliyet gösteren bu kesim ulusal ve bölgesel bazda yaşanan ekonomik sorunlardan etkilenmektedir. Bu işletmelerin müşteri kitlesi çoğunlukla öğrencilerdir. Hizmet kalitesi açısından iki kesimin tespitleri birbirine uymamaktadır. Yerel ekonomik aktörler olan kamu kurumları ve kuruluşları ile bağlantılarının çok güçlü olduğunu söylemek mümkün değildir. Sadece tedarikçilerle bağlantılar yüksektir. Geleceğe yönelik politika ve programların geliştirilebilmesi için, bu tür çalışmaların tüm sektörlere uygulanması gerektiği düşünülmektedir. Craftsmen and tradesmen are undoubtedly the most important actors in urban trade. Tradesmen and craftsmen sector, are of great importance both for the economical and social aspects for our country especially when their numerical size is considered. As there are not enough appropriate analysis about sectoral and regional characteristics of these businesses, some diffuculties are experienced for developing future policies and programs. in this study, the national and regional problems of local tradesmen were investigated. in addition, the relations of these businesses with the local economy were determined. These relations were studied for different aspects including suppliers, customers and public institutions and organizations. Questionnaire was selected as the most appropriate method for the data collection. As a result, the food service sector and micro-sized enterprises localised in the city center of Isparta is affected from both the local and national economical problems. Customers of this sector are mostly students. The determinations of sector owners and the customers do not match with each other for the quality of the service. İt is impossible to say that there are strong relations with the local economic actors such as public institutions and organizations. There are strong relations only with the suppliers. For developing future policies and programs, applying these kinds of investigations for ali the sectors should be considered.
