Küreselleşme olgusunun dünya genelinde hız kazanmasıyla birlikte ülkeler arasındaki gelişmişlik seviyesi gittikçe artmaktadır. Gelişmiş ülkeler sahip oldukları bir takım ekonomik avantajlar nedeniyle kalkınma düzeylerini gerçekleştirmişler ve az da olsa bölgeler arasındaki dengesizliği en aza indirgemişlerdir. Gelişmekte olan ülkelerin ise en önemli sorunlarının başında kalkınma ve az gelişmişlik yer almaktadır. Bu sorunu aşmanın yollarından birisi de bu ülkelerin kalkınma için öncelikli sektörünü tespit etmektir. Gelişmekte olan ülkelerde sanayileşme olmadığı için kalkınma sağlamak, ancak sahip oldukları turistik arz potansiyelini değerlendirmekle mümkündür. Turizm sektörünün bölgesel kalkınma ve yöredeki turizm kaynaklarının etkin kullanımı konusunda büyük bir yeri ve önemi vardır.Bu bağlamda çalışmamızın amacı, bölgeler arası dengesizlikleri gidermede kalkınma politikalarıyla birlikte turizmin rolünü incelemek, Amasya ilinin turizm potansiyelini ortaya koyarak, ilin gelişmesine katkısı olup olamayacağını anlamak ve bu konuda öneriler sunabilmektir. Bu amaçla ildeki otel işletmelerine yapılan anket çalışmasıyla ilin turizm potansiyeli ve il ekonomisine turizmin katkısı olup olmadığı ortaya konmaya çalışılmıştır.Sonuç olarak, Amasya’da kültür, çağlar boyu yerleşik olan uygarlığın izlerini taşımakta olup, bu zenginliğin turizm alanında en iyi şekilde değerlendirilmesi halinde ilin kalkınmasına ve ülke turizmine büyük katkı sağlayacağı, bölgeler arası dengesizliği gidermede önemli rol oynayacağı ispat edilmiştir. Along with the accelaration of the globalisation phenomenon, the level of development among the countries has been rising more and more. Developed countries have performed their development levels because they have a number of economical advantages and they have slightly minimized the imbalance between the regions . One of the most important problems of developing countries involves the development and underdevelopment. One of the ways to cope with this problem is to identify the priority sector for development of these countries. Performing the development in developing countries is merely possible by evaluating the potential of their tourist supply. The tourism sector has a big place and importance on regional development and the efficient use of local tourism resources.In this respect, the purpose of the research is to investigate the role of tourism along with development policies to resolve interregional imbalance. Therefore, it is intended to figure out the tourism potential of the city and whether tourism has any impact on urban economics by applying a questionnaire to hotel managements.As a result, the culture in Amasya has the traces of the civilisation settled there for ages and it is proved that if this wealth is best valued by tourism, it will contribute to the city’s development and national economy and it will play a crucial role in resolving interregional imbalance.
