Kendilerine başvuran bireylerin sağlık durumunun korunduğu, yükseltildiği ve tedavilerinin yapıldığı hastaneler hizmet üreten kurumlardır. Hastaneler hizmet üretmenin yanında varlıklarını da sürdürmek zorundadırlar. Tüm diğer alanlarda faaliyet gösteren işletmeler gibi hastaneler de ancak kendilerini geliştirmek suretiyle varlıklarını sürdürebilirler. Hastanelerin rekabet güçlerinin tespit edilebilmesi için hastanelerin finansal yapısının incelenmesi ve analiz edilmesi gerekir.Finansal analiz ayrıca, yöneticilerin karar alma, planlama ve denetim işlevlerini daha etkin bir Şekilde yürütebilmelerini sağlar. İşletme sahipleri ve ortaklar için, işletme kârlılığı, faaliyet sonuçları, yatırımın güvenirliliği, işletmenin gelecek dönemlere ait kazanma gücü hakkında açık ve sağlam bilgiler verir. Son olarak da finansal kurumlar da, kredi talep edenlerin mali durumları ile borç ödeme güçlerini saptayabilmek için bu analiz sonuçlarından geniş ölçüde faydalanırlar.Oran yöntemiyle analiz finansal analiz yöntemlerinden biridir. Oranları hesaplamak çoğu zaman tek başına yeterli değildir. Bu oranları, anlamlı olduğu kabul edilen genel ölçülerle, işletmenin geçmiş yıllar oranları ile ve aynı endüstri kolundaki benzer işletmelerin oranları ile karşılaştırmak ve yorum yapmak gerekir. Isparta‟da bulunan Sağlık Bakanlığı‟na bağlı devlet hastanelerinde yapılan bu çalışmada izlenen yöntem budur.Çalışmada üç hastaneye ait oranlar sektör ortalamaları ile karşılaştırıldığında genellikle aynı yönde sonuçlar ile karşılaşıldı. Hospitals are service providing institutions in which the health conditions of applying individuals are maintained, raised or treated. Hospitals have to sustain their existence besides providing services. Hospitals can only sustain their existences by improving themselves like other institutions operating on various fields. The sustainability and responding to increasing demand requires development and keeping the power of competitiveness.The financial structures of the hospitals have to be examined and analyzed in order to identify the power of competitiveness. Financial analysis also helps administrators be able to manage decision-making, planning and controlling functions more effectively.It gives owners and shareholders of the institution clear and true information about profitability of business enterprise, activity results, credibility of the investment and earning power of the institution in the future periods. Lastly, financial institutions benefit widely from these analysis results so as to decide the financial status and the power of paying debts of those who demand credits.Rate method analysis is one of the methods for financial analysis. Calculating rates are often insufficient on its own. These rates must be compared and commented with general measurements that are considered to be significant, the rates of the institution‟s previous years and the rates of similar institutions on the same branch of industry. This is the method followed in this study which was carried out at the state hospitals of Ministry of Health in Isparta.In the study, when the rates of three hospitals were compared with the sector averages, the same directed results were generally attained.
