Bu araştırma, Osmanlı'nın son dönemi ile Cumhuriyet'in 1956'ya kadarki ilk yıllarında irşat faaliyetlerini yürüten Anadolu'nun ünlü ve etkin tasavvufi şahsiyetlerinden, Kadiriyye tarikatına ve Nakşibendiyye tarikatının Halidiyye koluna mensup “Alvarlı Efe” veya “Efe Hazretleri” diye bilinen Hace Muhammed Lutfi Efendi'nin tarikatı ve tasavvufi görüşleri hakkındadır. Muhammed Lutfi Efendi'nin hayatı, şahsiyeti, tasavvufta yetişmesi, irşad dönemi, tarikatının unsurları ve tasavvuf anlayışı ayrıntılı olarak değerlendirilmiştir.İslam'ın zahiri yönü şeriatı anlamadaki gayreti yanında yine batini yönü olan tasavvufu içselleştirmiş bir sûfi olan Muhammed Lutfi Efendi, ilmi tahsilini başta babası Hace Hüseyin Efendi olmak üzere döneminde yaşamış bazı alimlerden yapmıştır. Onun tasavvufi neşvesine kaynaklık eden sûfiler ise Bitlisli Şeyh Muhammed Küfrevi ve Tillolu Şeyh Nur Hamza'dır. Tasavvuf icazetlerini bu iki sûfiden almış ve ömrünün sonuna kadar Erzurum ve çevresinde tasavvufi ve ilmi faaliyetlerde bulunmuştur.Hace Muhammed Lutfi Efendi'nin en önemli özelliği ise hemen hemen tasavvufi her bir konuyu büyük bir ustalıkla işlediği şair kişiliğidir. “Hülasatü'l-Hakayık ve Mektûbatı-ı Hace Muhammed Lutfi” isimli eserinde yer alan şiirleriyle tasavvufun pek çok konusuna temas etmiş ve düşüncelerini açıklamıştır. This research is about the cult and sufistic views of Hace Muhammed Lutfi Efendi -also known as "Alvarlı Efe" or "Efe Hazretleri" who is one of the famous and effective sufistic personalities of Anatolia, belonging to Halidiyye branch of Nakşibendiyye cult and Kadiriyye cult and carried out his act of showing the true path from the late of Ottomans to the first years of Republic till 1956. Muhammed Lutfi Efendi?s life, personality, his development in sufism, the period of his act of showing the true path, components of his cult and his perception of sufism have been evaluated in detail.Muhammed Lutfi Efendi, a sufi who interiorised the internal side of Islam in addition to his endeavor of understanding sharia which is the exterior side of Islam, took lessons primarily from his father Hace Hüseyin Efendi and from other scholars lived in his period. The sufis who became the source of his sufistic joy were Şeyh Muhammed Küfrevi from Bitlis and Şeyh Nur Hamza from Tillo. His sufism degree was ratified by these two sufis and he continued sufistic and scholarly activities in Erzurum and its neighbourhood till the end of his life.The most important feature of Hace Muhammed Lutfi Efendi is his poetic personality with which he handles almost all sufistic issues very skilfully. He touched lots of issues of sufism and expressed his thoughts in the poems of his art "Hülasatü?l-Hakayık and Mektûbatı-ı Hace Muhammed Lutfi".
