Kümelenme yaklaşımı günümüzde üstün rekabet gücüne sahip olmanın ve ekonomik kalkınmanın temelini oluşturan önemli bir faktör olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Son yıllarda, Dünya ve Türkiye ekonomisinde kümelenme yaklaşımının popülerliği artmakta ve başarılı örnekler sergilenmektedir. Kümelenmenin en önemli özelliği olan, işletmelerin birbirine yakın olması ve işbirliği içinde olmalarının önemli bir rekabet avantajı oluşturduğu değerlendirilmektedir. Bucak ilçesi mermer sektörü de bu rekabet avantajıyla birlikte ihracat ve istihdam alanında önemli katkılar sağlamaktadır. Bucak ilçesi mermer sektörü işletmelerinin kümelenme düzeyini tespite yönelik yürütülen bu çalışma teorik ve uygulama olmak üzere iki temel kısımdan oluşmaktadır. Teorik kısmın amacı, kümelenme kavramının gelişimi ve mermer sektörünün ekonomik yapısını ortaya koymaktır. Uygulamaya yönelik saha araştırmasının amacı ise teoride elde edilen bilgiler ışığında Bucak ilçesi mermer sektöründe faaliyette bulunan işletmelerin kümelenme düzeylerinin tespit edilmesidir. Diğer bir amaç ise, kümelenmenin rekabetçi avantajları ve dezavantajlarını belirleyerek eksiklikleri tespit etmek ve çözüm önerileri geliştirmektir.Tez kapsamında gerçekleştirilen saha araştırmasında anket yöntemi kullanılmış ve hazırlanan anket formu Bucak ilçesi mermer sektöründe faaliyet gösteren 48 işletme üzerinde uygulanmıştır. Anket çalışması sonucu elde edilen veriler SPSS programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonuçları değerlendirilerek, mermer işletmelerinin kümelenme düzeyleri tespit edilmiş ve rekabetçi avantaj yapısı Porter modeli yardımıyla değerlendirilmiştir. Bu araştırmanın temel bulgusu, Bucak ilçesi mermer sektörü işletmelerinde kümelenme potansiyelinin bulunduğu ve değer zincirleri açısından rekabet avantajına sahip olduklarıdır. Clustering approach has emerged as an important factor to affect competitiveness and economic development. In recent years, popularity of clustering approach has increased in the economic fields of Turkey and the World, and successful samples have been exposed. It is considered that the proximity of enterprises in the same category, which is the most important feature of clustering, provides an important advantage in terms of competition. Marble sector in Bucak provides important contributions to the fields of exportation and employment as well as with its competitive advantage.This study, in which the clustering level of the enterprises in marble sector in Bucak County has been determined, is composed of two major parts as theory and application. The purpose of theoretical part is to reveal the development of clustering concept and the economic structure of marble sector. Aim of the application part toward field research is to determine the clustering level of enterprises dealing in the marble sector of Bucak County. Another purpose of this study is to determine the advantages and disadvantages of clustering in terms of competitiveness and to develop suggestions.In the field research, which was performed in the scope of this thesis, questionnaire method has been used and the questionnaire form prepared has been conducted in 48 enterprises dealing in the marble sector in Bucak, Burdur. The data which have been obtained from the questionnaire forms have been analyzed with the SPSS program. Considering the results of analysis, the clustering levels of marble enterprises have been determined, and the structure of competitive advantage has been evaluated by means of Porter model. The major findings of this study are that there is a potential of clustering in Bucak marble sector, and the enterprises have competitive advantage in terms of value chains.
