Akıl, düşünce tarihini mümkün kılandır. O, insanın bilgiye ulaşmasına dair fonksiyonudur. Bu fonksiyonun gerçekleştiricisi olan düşünme eylemi, bilimsel hareketin en temel unsurudur. Bu sayede insan, ontolojik düzlemde özel bir yer edinmektedir. Akıl ilkelerinin incelenmesi, insanı özel kılan düşünmedeki yeri nedeniyle önemlidir. Aristoteles’te düşünme, tüm varlık ve bilgi evreninin sınırlarını akıl ilkeleriyle çizmektedir. Bu doğrultuda akıl ilkeleri üzerine bir inceleme, mantıkmetafizik ve fizik bir ilişkinin en temel bağıntısı konumunda ele alınmaktadır. Tüm mantık sisteminin ilksel dayanağı, akıl ilkeleridir. Bu doğrultuda düşünmenin kaynağı olan varlık ile akıl arasındaki ilişkinin gerçekliği ve bu gerçekliğin düşünülmesinin geçerliliği akıl ilkelerine bağımlı bir yapı arz eder. Mind is the thing, which makes history of thought possible. It is the function of human to access the knowledge. Thinking action is the main factor of the scientific movement as the realizer of this function. Accordingly, human being gets a special place in the ontological realm. It is important to identify the principles of reason by virtue of its place in the process of thinking which makes human being special. In Aristotle, thinking defines the limits of the existence and knowledge through the principles of reason. In this regard, identifying the principles of reason lays on the basic link of a logic, metaphysic and physics correlation. Principles of reason are the primary bases of whole logic system. Hence both the reality of the relation between mind and the existence, which is the source of thinking, and the validity of its cognition construct a structure dependent on the principles of reason.
