İrlandalı şair ve yazar William Butler Yeats'in oyunlarında ve şiirlerinde mistisizm temasını ele aldığı bilinmektedir. Bu çalışma Yeats'in "The Land of Heart's Desire" ve "The Shadowy Waters" adlı oyunlarındaki mistisizm temasını ele almaktadır.Mistisizm ve tasavvuf temaları daha once Yeats'in eserlerinde kapsamlı bir şekilde ele alınmamıştır. Bu çalışma Yeats'in iki oyunundaki tasavvuf ve mistisizm konularını kapsamaktadır. Tasavvuf ve mistisizme tarihsel bir bakış açısıyla edebiyat, Hıristiyanlık ve Yeats'in bahsi geçen eserlerinde nasıl ele alındığı ortaya konulmuştur. It is known that the Irish poet and writer William Butler Yeats was interested in mysticism in his poems and plays. The study aims to deal with the theme of mysticism how it was treated in Yeats's two plays, The Land of Heart's Desire and The Shadowy Waters. The treatment of mysticism in Yeats's works has, somehow, been dug again as it was not sufficiently explored before. The study covers the theme of mysticism and its usage in literature and most importantly in Yeats's selected plays. The significance of mysticism to Yeats has been exhibited. With a historical perspective mysticism has been dealt with and its roots and connection to faith and Christianity has been explored as well. The concept of mysticism and its relation to soul in Christianity, Islam, Buddhism and Hinduism have also been briefly emphasized.
