İnsanın akıl, sezgi ve duygular gibi yaratılıştan sahip olduğu birtakım özellikleri vardır. Bunlar sayesinde insan, kendisi ve çevresi hakkında bilgi edinir, Allah'ın varlığını kavrar, Allah'ın gönderdiği peygamberlerin ve kitapların bildirdiklerini okuyup, anlayıp, uygulamaya geçirir. Kur'an'da ve Kutsal Kitaplarda insanların geçmişteki peygamber ve toplumların yaşadıkları ders verici olaylardan kesitler anlatılır ve insanların bunlardan ibret almaları amaçlanır. Kur'an'da ibret almamız için bahsi geçen peygamberlerden biri de Hz. Şuayb ve O'nun peygamber olarak gönderildiği Medyen ve Eyke halkıdır. Kitab-ı Mukaddes'te de Hz. Şuayb'tan bahsedilmektedir. Ancak ismi Şuayb olarak değil Reuel ve Kâhin Yitro olarak geçmektedir. Kitab-ı Mukaddes'te Hz. Şuayb daha çok Hz. Musa ile ilişkisi yönünden açıklanmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, Kitab-ı Mukaddes'te ve Kur'an-ı Kerim'de Hz. Şuayb hakkında verilen bilgiler ortaya konulmuş, iki kitapta Hz. People have some in born properties like mind, intvition and emotions. Thanks to them, people get information about their environment and themselves, comprehand the existence of the God. They read, understand and apply the declarations of the prophets and holy scripture sent by the God. The sections of the prophets and the societies informative incidents are stated in the Quran and the Holy scriptures and it is aimed at drawing a lesson from them. One of the prophets from whom we should draw a leeson is Hz. Şuayb and the community of Medyen and Eyke who was sent as a propet to them. Hz. Şuayb is mentioned in the Torah. But the name of Hz. Şuayb is mentioned as Reuel and Kâhin Yitro. Hz. Şuayb is explained in terms of the relation with Hz. Musa. İn this article, it is tried to be introduced the information about Hz. Şuayb that is mentioned in the Quran and Torah, And it is tried to be identified both the similarities and the differences about Hz. Şuayb.
