Popüler Türk Sinemasında Hegomonik Erkeklik ve Eşcinsellik Yüksek Lisans Tezi, 109 Sayfa, Isparta, 2015. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye sinemasında 2000'ler sonrası yüksek gişe yapmış eşcinsel ana ya da yan temalı filmler üzerinden hegomonik erkeklik, erkeklik/ler ve eşcinsel erkeğin toplumsal yansımalarını incelemektedir. Bu kapsamda dört film seçilmiştir. Ataerkil toplumsal yapı, erkeği kendi normlarına uygun olarak şekillendirmektedir. Erkeklik bir iktidar alanı olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Bu iktidarın korunması ve sürdürülmesi hayat boyu devam eden bir süreci kapsamaktadır. Erkeklik kısaca kadına özgü olan her şeyin reddi olarak tanımlanabilir. Bu durum eşcinsel erkeğin, erkekler dünyasının dışında kalmasına neden olmaktadır. Örneklem alınan filmlerden hareketle eşcinsel erkeğin diğer erkekler tarafından uğradığı homofobik, cinsiyetçi ve ırkçı tutumlar incelenmiştir. Araştırmada, ataerkil toplumda sosyalizasyon sürecini geçiren erkek bireyin yaşadığı topluma uygun katı sınırların içerisine hapsolduğu gözlenmiştir. Ataerkil sistemin, erkekliğe atfettiği değerler, erkeği bu sınırlar içinde şekillendirmektedir. Bu durum erkeklerin özgür iradesini ortadan kaldırarak erkeği birey olmaktan uzaklaştırmaktadır. Erkekler kendi duygu dünyaları ile toplumsal normlar arasına sıkışmaktadır. Bu sistem hem ezen hem ezilen için tehdit içermektedir. Şiddet şiddeti doğurmakta bu durumun sonuçlarına görece "güçsüz" erkekler katlanmak zorunda kalmaktadır. Erkeklerin bu sınırların dışına çıkması öncelikle homososyal ortamdan, aileden ve tüm çevreden dışlanma korkusunu beraberinde getirmektedir. Erkeklik sadece kendine değil çevresindeki herkese var olan ataerkil normları benimsetme ve sürdürme misyonunu da yükler. Aksi takdirde toplum dışına itilme ve itibarsızlaştırma süreçleri ile karşılaşır. Erkeklik normlarına uymak toplumda saygın ve itibarlı kalabilme vitrini haline gelmiştir. The aim of this study is to analyze the hegemonic masculinity, masculism and social reflection of homosexual men by studying on blockbuster movies which main or side theme is the homosexuality. Patriarchal social order forms the men according to its norms and manhood is defined as a potency field. Conserving and sustaining this potency cover a lifetime process. Manhood can be briefly defined as the denial of everything peculiar to women. This situation causes homosexual men to be left outside of the masculine world. In this study from the exemplified movies, the homophobic, sexist and racist attitudes of other men faced by homosexual men are analyzed. In the study, the male individual experiencing the socialization process is observed as to be confined in tough boundaries conforming to the community. The values attributed to manhood by patriarchal order forms the men along with aforementioned boundaries. This situation eliminates men from being an individual by blocking the free will of the men. Men are being stuck both in their own emotions beings and the social norms. This order implies a threat for both the dominant and dominated men. Violence causes more violence and relatively "weak" males have to withstand the consequences of the situation. Stepping out of aforementioned boundaries primarily brings out the fear of being excluded from the homosocial environment, the family and the whole environment. Manhood implies the mission of adoption and sustaining of patriarchal norms not only on himself but also its surroundings. Otherwise it confronts with process of being pushed out of the society and being disreputable. Conforming to the norms of masculinity became a showcase of being reputable and respective in society. Especially hegemonic masculism makes himself and his counterparts to pay the price for the sake of protecting his social status. Keywords: Hegemonic masculinity, masculism, homosexuality, cinema. |
