Günümüzde bütün dünyada ve Türkiye'de teknoloji ve İnternet hızlı bir gelişme göstermektedir. Hem özel sektör hem de devlet kurumları bu gelişmeleri yakından izlemektedir. Yaşanan bu gelişme hızlı bir değişime neden olmaktadır. Bu değişimden her sektördeki firma sahipleri ve çalışanlar farklı bir biçimde etkilenmektedir. Muhasebe alanı da bu değişimlerden fazlaca etkilenen sektörlerden biridir. Muhasebe alanında çalışanlar teknoloji ve İnternetin gelişimini takip etmek istemeseler bile devletin hayata geçirdiği e-fatura, e-defter, e-beyanname gibi e-devlet uygulamalarıyla iç içe oldukları için yenilikleri takip etmek zorundadırlar. Teknoloji ve İnternetin muhasebe meslek mensuplarına getirdiği birçok kolaylığın yanı sıra ve zorlukları da vardır. Meslek mensuplarının veri kaydetme, verilerin otomatik aktarımı ve buna benzer işlerdeki sorumlulukları oldukça azalmaktadır. Muhasebecilerin bazı sorumlulukları azalırken teknolojinin onlara getirdiği ek işlemlerde olmaktadır. Bu çalışmayla, İnternet kullanımının muhasebe mesleğini nasıl etkileyeceği, faydaları ve ortaya çıkardığı sorunlar araştırılmaya çalışılmıştır. Today, technology and the Internet show rapid growth in the whole world and in Turkey. Both the private sectors as well as government agencies are closely monitore these developments.These developments cause a rapid change. Company owners and workers in all sectors are affected by this change in a different way. Accounting is also one of the sectors affected most by these changes. Although people working in the field of accounting don not want to follow developments of technology and Internet, they are to follow the developments, the goverment this implemented , such as E-Billing, E-Book, E-Declaration that they are intertwined with. There are numerous challenges as well as conveniences that technology and Internet have brought to the accounting professions. Responsibilities of professionals in data recording, the automatic transfering of data and such kind of jobs are quite decreasing. While the responsibilities of the accountant are reducing , there can be additional process that technology brings them. In this study, how the Internet use will affect the accounting profession and the benefits and the problems that the Internet and technology reveal was tried to be investigated.
